That's not really true anymore: see The Walking Dead, remake of Dawn of the Dead, Zombies: Wicked Little Things etc. Modern cinema has had to up the ante in this case to get the shocks.

Even the Dawn of the Dead remake starts with a zombified little girl attacking her parents.

This is such a beautiful story...I love old pictures and this collection should be bound together and sold as a book or placed in the commons thing in congress. This is really an amazing story about someone so seemingly insignificant...I love the whole idea and I'm dying for the movie.
