This is,by far, the best pianist I have ever seen or heard.
In my view, this is the very height of artistic expression and I find it exhilirating. This is what all Human Endeavor sums to. I will now gladly accept all bullets to mine head, having seen this virtuoso at work and play.

Acoustic guitar: Maneli Jamal - "Lucid Drawl"

JAPR says...

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Most of these sort of virtuoso acoustic songs sound very similar for the most part, but this one has some really unique and amazing parts in it. I can't get enough of vids like this.

Pitch correction like you've never seen (or heard)

There's no doubt that this is cool, but does anyone think that making music like this is cheating? I'm not a musician, but I kind of look at similarly to how uhohzombies does. Any crappy musician who knows how to work this software will be able to sound like a virtuoso. I realize it doesn't mean that they'll be able to write music any better, but the finished product will certainly sound more professional.

None of that takes away from how impressive this technology is, however.

That's interesting to hear about his motivations, I'd guessed something along those lines.

A lot of artists stick it out as instrumentalists but it's no path to riches. I can't imagine listening to Justin King's music unless you're musician or guitar geek. After I play his album my brain is noticeably tired.

I cropped this song from an mp3 off a fan site, it's an echoed version of square dance:

Funny thing, I get stingy with my votes when it comes to music videos. If the audio quality is bad or I don't like the song I can't vote it up.

I heard from a friend that's rather obsessed with him (has all his CDs and everything) that the reason he started doing rock music was because the acoustic virtuoso thing was getting a little stale to him. Yes, he's done amazing things in the genre, but there's only so far you can go, and I'm sure he just wanted to expand his work a bit, and have some fun while he's at it. I think the songwriting he displays in his work in this band is just as excellent as his solo work, and on many levels coming up with music for that many instruments is a lot more work.

But yeah, his work in general is absolutely great. I love everything he's released. It's cool to see another fan on here.

In his solo career Justin was treading new ground. I'm a little disappointed that he's put it on hold for now. When he returns to his instrumental roots I expect we'll hear more great music from him.
