Problem is I don't see too much difference in Howard and Rudd. To quote South Park "you're voting for either a douche or a turd sandwich".

e.g. Rudd has done some good things since being elected. Signing the Kyoto agreement for one. Though it will be interesting to see how he handles the "Sorry" thing and what the outcomes of that will entail.

However what I really despise about the Rudd government is their plan to place a mandatory censorship on the Internet at the ISP level. I've been following it for a while and it seems that the plan is a pre-election promise with their buddy party the religious-right group Family First.

Sad panda aside, you're still going to vote for him, right? Even if he isn't elected, a significant % of votes for a 3rd party (c'mon he's not really republican now is he?) would be a neat thing. Could lead to less fail in the future.

I guess if given the choice between a douchebag, a turd sandwich, and a guy that I like but don't think will get elected, I will vote for my guy. Remember what South Park taught us - it doesn't even matter if you vote for the douchebag or the turd sandwich, because you're gonna end up cows anyway.
