If you take the position that hypocrisy is unacceptable, then you basically end up with a moral code that consists only of things you would never do, regardless of right or wrong. I will agree with one thing though: You have to take your own medicine. If you insist that someone should resign over cheating on their wife, then you should be prepared to resign if you do the same.
