If people would comply, don't shot at , don't run, don't fight. then maybe just maybe those who do would not be shot at.

99% black on black murder 1% cop on black murder. Fix the 99% and the 1% will fade away.

Cops are not the problem, bad people are.

Of the murder victims for whom race was known, 53.3 percent were Black or African American, 43.8 percent were White, and 2.8 percent were of other races. Race was unknown for 233 victims

More than 49 percent (49.2) of all murders for were single victim/single offender situations.

When the race of the offender was known,

Judge Barrett isn't worth considering

newtboy says...

Sorry Hon.
It's no surprise you're too dumb to remember what I've told you a dozen times before yesterday when I told you again, I don't watch your insane propaganda links, nothing to see there but misrepresentation and blatant lies. Keep them.
I'm sure you'll forget that at your shift change when the next Bob takes over.

GOT PULLED OVER WITH MY PISTOL ON ME

newtboy says...

Brother? Really? Yeah, you aren't a bit racist, just stuck in the 70's (when that would still be considered racist, but at least contemporarily racist).

One bad apple.....spoils the bunch is the rest of that sentence.
We see nothing but bad apples. There are no good apples in the bunch, because they left those bad apples in the bunch for decades, actually recruiting them in many cases (see Florida, who recruits cops fired for violence).

Pablo Escobar did nice things, he was a bad apple. Not being the most racist, accusatory, disrespectful, violent assholes possible at every turn does not make a good apple. Turning in, and testifying against his fellow thuggish cops whenever they get violent, racist, or abusive until those cops are in prison instead of on the force, that makes a good apple. They don't exist.

The agreement between law enforcement and citizens starts with law enforcement's obligations.
First is to enforce the law evenly and fairly, not use it as a club for their personal prejudices. Second is their obligation to police themselves with greater zeal and less leeway than they give citizens.
Until they fulfil these obligations, citizens have no obligation to be civil to them. They shirked their obligations first, and theirs came with authority and benefits they retain even though they fail at their obligations every single time.
Civility with police in no way protects you from abuse....it often does nothing but give them excuses to violate citizens further. Any first year lawyer can tell you, there's no benefit to speaking with them at all.

Funny how you think finding one instance where being friendly ended with just a ticket and search you insist it works every time despite the numerous, uncountable examples proving that's simply not true shown to you daily.

"The race issue" (as if it's only one issue) if at the forefront because Republicans have become so outrageously overtly racist with support from the top down that the entire planet has had enough and are marching against the racist, murderous police. We know who is on who's side. It's clear. No one is accepting your word on the subject. We know you have said clearly that you support lying if it helps your cause or proves your point.

BTW, thanks for getting last night's bobknight33 off the keyboard. That one really needs more practice before being put in rotation, he didn't sound like the bobknight33 group in any way. Edit:oops, I hadn't read your other post this morning. These do not appear to be the same person posting in your name 1 1/2 hours apart....shift change comrades?

Sorry NEWT no brother was harmed. Nothing to see here. I realize ALL you post is bad cop vids because of your derange mind is to intolerant to accept that not all cops are bad.

Take solace newt, you will find something to bitch about this.

This is the example of the social compact between society and its law enforcement.

Funny when one is cordial, open dialog, legal, and complies with request form officers things go pretty well.

However this is NOT the narrative that FAKE news pushes day in day out, sowing the seeds of discontent just for the up coming election. If Dems win then race issue pushed to the back burner again.

Bogus Beggar

Porksandwich says...

Hell my dad worked at GM. There was a guy there who begged right outside the plant. The guy made so much money he had a driver who drove a brand new Cadillac sitting around the corner so he could get in and warm up between shift changes. Very few people caught on, even after my dad told them what the guy was doing...they thought my dad was just being an asshole for not giving the guy money.

It's a shitty thing to do, but it's not much different than people who work the same job as you and complaining about not having enough money and need a few bucks over and over. Especially once you find out that they don't have kids or the majority of the expenses you do and probably spend their money getting drunk or pissing it away in some other fashion.

Is it fraud......technically yes. But considering on the scale of things, it's not much different than the sales guy who tells you what you want to hear about something and has to be asked question after question to get an honest non-deflected answer from the guy. Beggar could have hurt their back in an accident, they are just letting you fill in the extent of the injury with your imaginings. Hell I've hurt my back bending over picking something up......if I show up in a wheel chair and tell you I hurt my back when I was lifting........ and that's all you ask most people would assume something heavy or weights.

There are lots of a$$holes out there

Porksandwich says...

It's been in some television shows too. I think Southland had an episode where some kid would throw his bike on the ground and make like the people hit him or someone had hit him. Then they'd either take the car or steal whatever they could out of it while people were checking on the kid.

Kid really can't be prosecuted since he's a minor, and.......good luck on the rest.

Soon as it's on TV, it seems like you start to see those kind of crimes in the news. Not sure if it's new awareness of it, a surge in the crime, or it catching people's eye because it seems kind of fantastic since it was on television.

And there's another less obvious crime that this video made me think back to with the guy in the street being on crutches.

People faking disabilities for quick cash. Homeless people do it.....I've got a funny story about this I'll stick at the end of this comment. And there are people who go around with these little US flags with a piece of paper on it that shows sign language, and it might be legitimate in some cases. But they show up in fast food joints and go out to the tables, throw out some sign language and point to the paper and another that asks for donations...then give you a little plastic flag and leave quickly. They don't have any kind of charity affiliation that you can see....

And the homeless guy story. My dad and his cousin worked at the GM factory. The cousin used to give guys money because they'd claim they didn't have enough money to eat (lunch money basically) because they didn't make enough. And even after my dad pointed out that they make the same or more than both of them do, he still felt sorry for them. Well this changed when my dad showed him the "homeless" guy that would sit out in front of the plant during their shift changes. He was older maybe 50-60 and would tell them how bad it was for him and probably get 10-30 bucks each shift change, in the early to mid 70s. One day the cousin gave him a buck and my dad laughed at him, and this cousin is kind of a hotheaded guy so he accuses my dad of being a heartless prick, etc. So my dad gets him to walk with him to the edge of the building and he points out a nice caddy sitting there idling WITH A DRIVER, and tells him to check for that car every day that "homeless" guy is around. The days he wasn't out during shift change, the car was not there. The days he was there, car was sitting out there idling. The guy made enough money by panhandling at the GM plant to hire a driver to drive him around and was there nearly every day the plant was open....getting money from the workers and very few ever caught on. Got some other "homeless" people stories, but this one is by far the best I've ever heard.

"Talking Tornado Sirens" - Seek Shelter Now

NordlichReiter says...

I guess it changed. I used to live between Ft Worth and Dallas. All of the sirens were at firehouses. They used them to signal shift changes, weather, and big fires.

I for one think they shouldn't be used unless something serious is taking place, specially when they are right in the middle of a residential area.

We would hear those sirens, drop whatever it was we were doing and take off for shelter. But since I went back no one does a damned thing.

Paul's Mesage to Obama

drattus says...

Some of the questions are valid but others such as his position on medical marijuana are just a matter of looking for the answer. It's not that it isn't there. Yeah I do like Paul better on that but he doesn't have much chance of getting elected so our best choice who does have a chance would be Obama.

http://www.reason.com/blog/show/124727.html

Anyone expecting earth shifting change with Obama has their hopes misplaced, what he offers is more incremental change or at worst maybe we won't go too far in the wrong direction under him which we would do under McCain. Personally I'd rather change the world in a day too but it isn't going to happen anytime soon and if it ever did I'd bet it would have to be bloody. A step in the right direction is better than several more steps in the wrong one, if we manage to get as little as a more adult conversation from him rather than the talking points we're used to that in itself would be a good step.

A few things such as kissing up to AIPAC worry me, a few others such as the way he handled the Wright issue and his refusing to pay 'walking around money' to political operatives in Pennsylvania encourage me. We'll see I guess.
