Morgan Freeman narrates "life"
Funny thing about that guy is he has what looks like a Bastro patch on his modern backpack. Back in the day DIY hardcore kids would put band patches on their backpacks. Bastro was a mathy "post-hardcore" band that came before the now famous band Tortoise, they also played in Gastro Del Sol with Jim O'Rourke who is famous for his own solo career, playing in Sonic Youth, (dad rock band) Wilco and many others. So, this guy is a nerd but once upon a time before capturing his head on a pole - he was a cool nerd. OR maybe it's not a Bastro patch and I'm the only nerd, lol.
Shudder To Think - 9 Fingers
Why does this remind me of grunge? Ah! Wikipedia informs me this album was 1994. Though apparently it's post-hardcore. Genre's are confusing

To me punk hasn't broken new ground since Refused's Shape of Punk to Come, but that's really post-hardcore more than punk
Music breaking new ground in genres huh? Try:
Pure Reason Revolution - The Dark Third
Mutyumu - Ilya
Kashiwa Daisuke - Program Music I
Noah And The Whale - The First Days Of Spring
Thy Catafalque - Róka Hasa Rádió

I'm probably gonna get some downvotes for this but what the hell. Is punk music the only genre breaking new ground anymore? I mean I listen to all kinds of music and it's the same stuff being recycled over and over. Punk on the other hand, just when I think it can't be degraded any further...

Not bad as much as just horribly generic emo/lame attempt at post hardcore.
Pose Hardcore is in and of itself bad.
Wrong.
Drive Like Jehu, Unwound, Les Savy Fav, Refused, Hot Water Music, Cap'n Jazz, At The drive In, Fugazi, Embrace, Rites of Spring, Nation of Ulysses, Jawbox...
I guess I was just ignorant of what Post Hardcore was. This cover is definitely not Post Hardcore then, but whatever it is, it's terrible, terrible shit.

Protest the Hero- Bloodmeat
Excellent band, far and away not their best song off Fortress though in my opinion. Also would probably place them as progressive metal not punk/post hardcore.
Surface of Eceon: Time lapse video of the South Pole
if you like this music check out Isis, particularly their albums Oceanic and Panopticon, they're the cream of the crop of this genre (avant-garde/post-hardcore).
