Dark Dungeons - Full Trailer

I keep expecting, any day now, one of these extremist leaders is going to stand up and announce that it was all some sort of moralistic performance art and they didn't really mean any of it.

We'll all feel uncomfortable about how far we got lead down the hole. Then we'll laugh uncomfortably and learn an important lesson.

This is my hope and dream for the world.

Pussy Riot Gets Whipped in Sochi

Payback says...

I'm disturbed by this. Not the violence portrayed but the fact I'm dubious as to the sincerity of it.

My first thought was they got EXACTLY what they wanted. Then I thought maybe they got exactly what they wanted because all parts were controlled, Pussy, "Cossacks", media and "Police".

This seems more like performance art than a true trampled protest.

"Putin will teach you how to love the Motherland" seems a caricature to me.

I'm also not a fan of immersionist journalism which VICE uses as their raison d'etre (They're from Quebec). Seems to much like the polar opposite of whatever it is you call Fox News. Both are propaganda I guess.

I don't doubt the whippees were harmed. I'm sure it hurt like a somnabitch. I also know people are willing to do a lot of crap for a cause. Hell, there are a lot of people who getting beat like this just means it was a fun Saturday night.

Formidable Stromae

dzonny says...

today's lesson on the international music scene: this guy's name is Stromae (which comes from inverting the syllables of "maestro" which is a practice in French slang called "verlan" which comes from the inverted syllables of "l'envers" which, in French, means "the inverse") who, in this moving bit of performance art, recounts how quickly one can fall from being "wonderful" (fr: formidable) after a breakup. this video has ~30,000,000 views and he has 2 songs in the billboard top 10 France right now. talent. i'm going to get a beer. peace.

Now, That's performance art (read description).

I get all the drama I need out of my own life...I don't need staged performances to feel alive. "Love", by my definition, doesn't include walking away and never seeing each other again.

They may have a different definition. But nothing requires me to buy into it, or see it as anything but yet another marketing ploy. Pretty much like most "performance art".

This is beautiful and if you're tripping over the spectacle of it, just forget about that for a few minutes and try and feel what they're feeling. Be human for a second, you know that emotional being that existed before the all knowing fact checking internets ruled our way of life?

Just because you don't understand their reality doesn't discredit the authenticity of their love. You will NEVER understand what it is like to be them but their love is meaningful and the ability to show this type of unashamed honesty in front of the world is a TALENT. And it is freeing. Are you free? Really? Hahahahaha

People try so hard to dismantle the beauty of emotional reality for their constantly refined objective truth -- BUT I'd rather be in love and feel what that means in my heart than know a single fact about the mechanics of our universe.

It really is as simple as that for me. Love will always move me and I will die happy for knowing that. Not even the greatest feat of mankind could dwarf the concept of sharing love with another intellect. My obsessions and ambitions are firmly rooted and actualized, but love shakes me to the core as to make all else meaningless. It makes me forget my purpose.

If this is what Christians talk about when they aren't being socio/political judges, and God is love, then I am down with that.

Raise your fist and resist, but don't resist love. It's the only thing that matters.

Blue Man Group with PaintScaping

That's just WAY too short. This clip combines two of the most intriguing forms of artistic performances that there are, as far as I'm concerned. The whole projection mapping field has done some amazing works. And the BMG, with their unique instruments and style, well, let's just say that they're premiere performers in all aspects. Combining the two, now that it's been done, it seems so obvious that it would be incredible.

Now if we could just add Cirque du Soleil into the mix, I think we might approach the ultimate performance art.

It's funny that I don't really respect the talents of any of the people that hate Obama(excluding Clint), and kind of like those that like Obama.

I felt exactly the same. Regarding Clint; He is still the man, but in supporting Romney I think his fan base will have shrunk considerably (not that he would give a f ck).

I don't think people really get what Clint was doing. He was obviously giving a Dadaist performance in favor of Obama. Did you notice how all of the things he yelled at Invisible Obama for were actually things that Bush II set in motion (Afghanistan war), things the Republicans in Congress explicitly blocked (Gitmo's still open), and things that Romney's currently wanting to do?

Worst attempt at an insurance scam ever

ReverendTed says...

Did you hear that whooshing sound? That's the sound of us blowing past the boundary between "insurance fraud" and "performance art".

Alternatively: This was a huge miscommunication. His friend had told him, "I'm making a killing in insurance fraud. You should take a run at it."
