The Media's Failure on the Trump Indictment

luxintenebris says...

don is gone.

rather turn the channel & watch sumin' else.

all those stories 'bout the GOP going on full fascist. those are stories that hint of happier endings.

TN Reds are cooking their own goose. The Christian right is being treated as wrong in many red states. FL's Mussolini wannabe Governor's vexation, over being (invariably) outfoxed by Disney, has revealed his reserve is that of a nest of jostled hornets. Flying spittle ain't a good look for a leader. Out of control is a big voter turn-off. Ask Don. 7 millions times.

Heck. Even Fox is going on record as an opportunistic conniving lie oriented enterprise. A simple boycott of 10% of cable subscribers has the possibility of Rupe changing the format to all children's programming.

Angery dumb men, doing dumb things in anger, has a high likelihood of causing a great deal of harm to others, & in return to themselves.

TN has handed the left the future (see WS). FL governor is given Disney free reign for the coming decades. Women & youth are nullifying the SCOTUS' best-laid plans.

Don is gone. Red is the land of dread.

The AI in terrorist hunt mode might actually be the best I've ever faced in an FPS. I play that mode more than the PvP tbh.

They react to sound like people, shoot blind through cover to probe for you, attack you where your are weak, pull back where you are too strong etc.

Bastards even recognise your choke points and sabotage them by opening other routes and or destroying obstacles. (Or recognise you are outflanking theirs if you make too much noise etc.)

Make you think and move more in terms of what makes real world sense than simply what will outfox the AI.

TBH they are often smarter than the human players who play like they are in COD or BF and wonder why the tactical players keep shafting them.

Faux News/Norton Antivirus fail

Do you think that Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes concern themselves with affiliates?
I dated a girl who worked as a reporter and weekend anchor at a Fox affiliate station for a couple years. The station manager had complete creative freedom.

>> ^oohahh:
There's a pretty big difference between Fox News Channel the the affiliates?
If the Death Star had affiliate Death Stars, is it somehow different to work on one of the affiliates? They all take their marching orders from the same folks…

Outfoxed - How corporations control your opinions

Hannity Gets Lesson About Bush's Unpopularity

colinr says...

Excellent post! After watching that Outfoxed film and clips like these I have to admit to be worryingly fascinated by Fox News! Did anyone else see the couple of black 'influential' people quickly flicked past as they were introducing the guests? What was son wrong with them that they weren't given the same amount of time as those other people?

Lets hope Bush doesn't see this - I could imagine him screaming "I'll show you who's influential!" and starting another war!

But I do agree with one of the comments about some of the influential people being extremely shallow. I guess this poll was just based on the amount of coverage these people are getting right now, for better or worse. Perhaps Paris Hilton will make it into the next one now she's had her profile 'upped' by going to jail?

Trials Of Henry Kissinger

rickegee says...

Trials of Henry Kissinger was made by Eugene Jarecki who also made the superb WHY WE FIGHT.

Jarecki and Adam Curtis are the best of the new batch of "polemicist" documentarians. Both are much smarter and more observant than Michael Moore or the OUTFOXED/Walmart guy.

Fox Attacks: Black America

spoco2 says...

I've watched the whole of OutFoxed (these clips are not from that, but post it), and it, along with these further clips, really do make me scared for the general mindspace of mainstream America. I see similar things happening with the media here in Australia too, and that scares me.

Mindless consumers who just blindly believe what they see on tv scare the shit out of me basically. Especially when the excrement on tv is this right wing.

Fox News in the future - from the excellent film "Idiocracy"

Well, Dag, it seems you get a lot of comments in response to your comments.

So, here's another.
Your comment,
"Allow me to chime in. As much as I dislike W, Rummy, Dick and the rest, I can't believe they are evil enough to plot something like this against their own people."
from this submission.

I'm not trying to argue any side of that particular argument, I was just wondering if you were familiar with Operation Northwoods?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northwoods

Because that sort of shows that a presidential administration will totally do horrible crap to their own people. I mean, that was the Kennedy administration for crying out loud. Surely the Bush gang is more evil than JFK's group.

I just think this shows that's it's not beyond a reasonable doubt that they would do something like this.

The Real John McCain

joedirt says...

Here comes the double talk express:

* McCain criticized TV preacher Jerry Falwell as “an agent of intolerance” in 2002, but has since decided to cozy up to the man who said Americans “deserved” the 9/11 attacks. (Indeed, McCain has now hired Falwell’s debate coach.)

* McCain used to oppose Bush’s tax cuts for the very wealthy, but he reversed course in February.

* In 2000, McCain accused Texas businessmen Sam and Charles Wyly of being corrupt, spending “dirty money” to help finance Bush’s presidential campaign. McCain not only filed a complaint against the Wylys for allegedly violating campaign finance law, he also lashed out at them publicly. In April, McCain reached out to the Wylys for support.

* McCain supported a major campaign-finance reform measure that bore his name. In June, he abandoned his own legislation.

* McCain used to think that Grover Norquist was a crook and a corrupt shill for dictators. Then McCain got serious about running for president and began to reconcile with Norquist.

* McCain took a firm line in opposition to torture, and then caved to White House demands.

* McCain gave up on his signature policy issue, campaign-finance reform, and won’t back the same provision he sponsored just a couple of years ago.

* McCain was against presidential candidates campaigning at Bob Jones University before he was for it.

* McCain was anti-ethanol. Now he’s pro-ethanol.

* McCain was both for and against state promotion of the Confederate flag.

* And now he’s both for and against overturning Roe v. Wade.

I'm guessing Brave New Films is building an "Outfoxed" type documentary on McCain's video clips. www.therealmccain.com

Bill Clinton freaks out!

Wumpus says...

Wow, it only took two hours for the usual crowd to scream "Fox News manipulation!" Because according to MoveOn.org, MediaMatters.org and "Outfoxed" we all know that Fox is totally in the tank for the Republicans and intentionally distort all manner of information to fit their radical and twisted world view.

Bill O'Reilly doing what he does best.
