Law Student Prevails Over State Robot Thug

SquidCap says...

Title of the video is misleading, it's not a student prevailing, it's a crazy person abusing laws and getting away with it because of one obscure sentence in an old scripture that does not even mean what he think it means.

Carrying a gun and walking up and down the street. Should be in jail for two days or getting treatment in an institute, IMHO. Open carry are CRAZY, mentally not balanced individuals, period. No one needs to parade with their gun unless they have some obsession about using the damn thing (or it's sexual). But then again, i come from sensible place on earth with strict and very practical gun laws (no open carry, concealment only allowed for professionals)

Why I will never vote for Ron Paul

wax66 says...

So, you're not going to vote for Ron Paul due to FUD?

Are you really afraid of America repealing special treatment to specific groups? Then you don't understand human nature.

Sure, affirmative action did some good, but did it do more good than bad? Do you have the facts to prove it? Are you sure that the animosity that non-minorities felt didn't do more damage than simply letting nature take its course?

Social change comes from social elements, not the government. A person feels much more pressure from their peers than from laws. Ever see someone speeding in their car? But what about that 55 MPH sign? Yet, even though there's no distinct laws against it, most people won't cut in orderly lines... why is that? Because people relate to people

We never needed to tip the scales, we only needed to balance them, and special treatment for one group over another is NOT balance, and balance is what Ron Paul wants.

As for businesses not allowing a certain group or groups to buy from them, and people putting up signs of "none of your kind here"... who cares? Let the racists be ignorant and racist, they're only hurting themselves, not the people they hate. The government should only step in when there's an extreme problem, and there is NOT an extreme problem in the United States AS A WHOLE. Note what I said there... "AS A WHOLE". Why did I say it that way? Because he's talking about FEDERAL laws. We do NOT need more federal overhead in terms of laws, bureaus, committees, etc, when it comes to enforcement of fairness. Let that occur on the state level, if it's needed at all. Could it cause certain states to become more racist? Sure, but that would only hurt that state more in the long run.

You know what happens when you push a group to do what they don't want to do? Extremism. Push against racist groups and it only makes them more hateful.

Educate and care for the people, then love will overcome the fear. But in Ron Paul's world, do it at the state level, that's all.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Multiplayer Overview

RedSky says...

@Matthu

There's quite a lot of advantages to them, let me list:

1 - Virtually latency free. It depends a lot on where you live but if you reside in say Australia, the average person has 0.5mbps to 1mbps upload if that. That is simply not something that can support 32, let alone the maximum 16 players in MW2. Where it does, you're looking at a ping of 100+, which makes the game feel noticeably imprecise and usually spiky. This is probably less of an issue on consoles since controllers are generally less responsive and lead to slower gameplay than with a mouse. If you don't believe me, google some youtube clips of a cross platform game and compare PC to console gameplay, it's really quite obvious. This is also likely why P2P matchmaking has always been fine on consoles.

2 - Competitive mods. The fact is MW1 was simply not balanced towards being a fair competitive game out of the box. Grenade launchers as an example are cheap, and not really counterable in any way shape or form. 3x nades, especially if used by a whole team and lobbed in particular locations for S&D makes the game Russian Roulette. That's not even getting into the atrocious gun balance or the ridiculousness of perks.

Even in MW1 which was comparatively pretty tame, in Team Deathmatch modes, easily 2/3, if not more of my kills would consistently be Air Strike/Chopper kills. The point is, IW made the game in the interest of appealing to the masses, making it easy to gain kills and generally allowing far too many ways to score cheap kills. MW2 took this 10 steps further. Which is why in the competitive scene on PC, MW2 is a shell of what MW1 was.

3 - Community - Like you said yourself, you can regularly play on the same server and get to know people over time. Without it, unless you /friend them straight away, there's a chance you'll never see them again.

As a game with good graphics, whiz-bang explosions and lots of action, honestly it delivers, but if you're looking for a game that rewards skill, and where half your deaths and kills weren't based on luck then you should really be looking elsewhere.

---

And yeah, like westy said in his usual incomprehensible way, it's hilarious to see Black Ops stealing ideas from PC.

Especially GunGame which as far as I know originated from a mod. You know, the feature they removed in MW2?

Oh sweet irony, which unfortunately will be lost on most.

Gaydar: fact or fiction?

HadouKen24 says...

>> ^Xax:
I don't see how that's unfortunate. The video wasn't about trying to determine the cause of homosexuality, only if it's possible to detect it based on body language and speech.

The video quotes the researchers' making statements like "this may show feminizing of the brain in gay men, and masculinizing of the brain in gay women." That usually implies something chemical or hereditary, rather than mere socialization, something along the lines of the hypothesis that men are more likely to be gay if exposed to an excess of androgens in the womb.

The kind of phrasing used by the doctors is a bit misleading if not balanced by making it explicit and recognizing the other side in the controversy.

This is Why I Love Rachel Maddow

10419 says...

look, if your suprised or shocked that some far right hicks from the southern united states shouted racist comments about a black man, than i would love to know what rock you have been under. thats to be expected!

Rachel Maddow's TV show seems pretty close with the Crossfire "partisan hackery" side of tv media. When it guises its self as a balanced source for anyone to get updates on the political situation it isnt good for your country. its fine as a show for democrats, such as myself, who want the occational laugh, but wont pass as much else. tease all you want, rachel, but to be balanced you have to tease BOTH SIDES.

maybe i am getting it wrong though, maybe she is very open that her show is not balanced and is geared to show the flaws of the republican party? if so, i have fooled myself.

9/11 WTC 7 Conspiracy Theory Debunked

bleedingsnowman says...

Look, I've keep my mouth shut the whole time, but I think I will open it now.

^ those segments are not balanced. If you want to call this one unbalanced, fine, but if you say those are fare and balanced you must be joking, my babies.

If there was a conspiracy why bother with the planes? Think about how risky that is. What a huge chance of failure it has. Why not just blow up the buildings from the inside and say the terrorists did it, instead of fly planes into the buildings, then blowing them up from the inside "secretly" and then saying the terrorists did it. What if one of the planes missed? Being off a millimeter with a plane that size would send you an immediate mile off course. Think about all the people that would have to be involved. Every one of them would have to be psychopaths to let something like that happen. I’ll admit that Washington is a greedy bunch, but there isn't enough money in the world to keep all those people quiet.

Steve Jones may be a physicist but that doesn't mean he knows crap about structural design. But you know who does: I do. His postulations are beautiful garbage and his blathering exemplify his ignorance on buildings. I guess he was relived of duty after he said this and that, but, really, in the real world, you only get fired if you're an asshole. You can do a horrible job, say things that disagree with everything your institution stands for, but you'll only get the boot if you're a jerk. Ask anyone who's held a real job. He didn't get fired because of what he said about 911, he got put on relief because they already wanted to get ride of him and his bantering was the excuse.

Where were the engines? Inside the building. Why weren’t the wings there? Because a plane's wings are full of jet fuel and a 600 mile per hour impact would makes them EXPLODE. Why did the windows blow out: look up I.M Pei and get a lesson on air pressure. Passports planted: I'll buy it. What better way to direct attention. No video of the pentagon crash has come to light: that's fishy too, but, on the other hand, what would be the point? If you're going to crash a plane into the towers to incite public upheaval, why bother sending one to the pentagon, or why bother sending a missile instead of a real plane. I mean think of it: send planes, but then stop one of them, kill everyone on it, destroy the plane, then send a missile in its place? They hid the video because it was a knee jerk reaction and they didn't know what to do. They were scared. And they won’t release it now because it would prove nothing; let those people die in peace. Why would make it all so convoluted? Why leave so many loose threads? If they were going to fake something, it wouldn't be this easy to accumulate even this faux evidence.

The only public official who has said 9/11 was purposeful was the former president of Italy who has a serious history of mental illness and has his own conspiracy theory about being schizophrenic.

I think they did want to go back to the middle east. And 9/11 was the perfect excuse. Can't the manipulation of our wounded hearts, after a great national tragedy, be conspiracy enough? Of course it's about the oil, it about the whole region. It's about Israel and our former beef with all those "axis of evil" nations. It’s about Bush’s xenophobia. I think we would have ended up back there with or without 9/11, but, please, let those people who died on that die day with the dignity they deserve. It was a tragic day.

A few months after 9/11, I looked at an al Qaeda website and they claimed that 9/11 was revenge for every child who's stomach was born outside of it's body due to the use of depleted uranium in the gulf war. I don't think slaughtering thousands of innocents was just by no means, but what I'm saying is that they had their reasons and when you're living in the sand and you've got nothing else, a suicide mission seems pretty damn good. A 9/11 conspiracy theory even lessens what those mindless thugs died for.

Ron Paul Runs Rings Around Ignorant Reporter With The Truth

rougy says...

Ron Paul strikes me as an honest man, though I vehemently disagree with him about abortion. No civil liberties should be left to the states to decide.

It's obvious that the reporter was attacking him, since everything he said about Ron Paul was negative, and most of us on the internet know that there are a lot of positive things being said about him out there.

That's not "balanced news", CNN. That's more Fox bullshit.
