Bullets of Justice - Trailer

What It Took To Be A Black NASCAR Driver In The Jim Crow Era

vil says...

One of 3 black Nascar drivers in 60 years of racing.

The unease with which they accomodated JP Montoya for a couple of years was fun to watch.

Arrows A22 F1 car vs other track day cars at Circuit Zolder

Reefie says...

Both Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton broke the pole lap record for the Interlagos circuit of Brazil this year with the new hybrid engines. Previously held by the good man Rubens Barichello so I doubt that made them very popular with the locals! The race lap record is still held by Montoya.

Ah, the good old years when the cars actually got faster every year.

Yeah, it was meant to be F1 cars; but Bernie Ecclestone (F1 commercial rights holder) decided against it, as he thought Stallone would give F1 a bad name.

He was right: It earned seven nominations at the 22nd Golden Raspberry Awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, Worst Screen Couple (Burt Reynolds and Sylvester Stallone) and twice for Worst Supporting Actor (Reynolds and Stallone), with Estella Warren winning Worst Supporting Actress (also for Planet of the Apes).

List of F1, Indy car and CART drivers in the film:
Jean Alesi
Michael Andretti
Kenny Bräck
Patrick Carpentier
Cristiano Da Matta
Adrian Fernández
Christian Fittipaldi
Dario Franchitti
Luiz Garcia Jr.
Mauricio Gugelmin
Michel Jourdain Jr.
Tony Kanaan
Juan Pablo Montoya
Roberto Moreno
Max Papis
Oriol Servia
Alex Tagliani
Paul Tracy
Jimmy Vasser
Jacques Villeneuve

Here is an Excelent Racing movie: Grand Prix (1966)

It won the Academy Award Oscar for: Best Effects / Sound Effects, Best Film Editing, Best Sound in 1967.

It's the only Official F1 movie. The sound is quite incredibly. There is a scene in the movie; as they race around the streets of Monaco, with a Panavision 65mm camera strapped to the hood of the car.

All the best,
ZDM

Thanks for the *promote

There haven't been enough movies featuring racing cars, and even more so for F1. The French film Taxi (or taxi driver, or something like that) purported to have F1 cars, but they looked more like F3000 to me, there were a few others spread over many years... and then there's Rush and the Senna film all at once - life is good

Wasn't the Stallone one featuring Indy cars?

Sweet. 3:37, he's wearing one of my favorite t-shirts

Nametag that says:

Hello my name is
Inigo Montoya
You killed my father
Prepare to die

After drinking this entirely bottle of wine, that seemed interesting enough to share.

So much for cleanliness is next to godliness

What was that truck doing on the track and where were all the other cars? This is a bit different to Formula 1, is it all about how big a bang you can make with one car and a crazy driver?

Honestly, it's all about turning left. No joke.
Maybe a little about managing your fuel too. Ocassionally it's about choosing whether to go high or low into a turn. Other than that...left turns.

Dont be angry Enzoblue, JPM floundered a bit last season but its his choice/job/challenge/idea of fun (in most motor racing you need to be in the right team at the right time to win regularly).
The only big thing wrong in nascar+JPM IMHO is a bit of an attitude problem (like in Paybacks comment).

Notice what is said. Culprit first reacts to what he actually saw:
"I saw sparks coming from under the car as if it had a tyre down or something."
Looks like something broke. Likely a wheel/tyre/suspension/pit crew/previous contact problem.
And then he thinks it over and tries to come up with a more popular angle:
"I just wonder if Montoya was going down the back catching up with the field and he didnt know the safety truck was up there and they called him on the radio.."
Look ma he hit the big yellow track dryer on the end of the straight, he must be blind/stupid/distracted and dangerous. LOL

JPMs slightly awkward comment about the truck driver looking scared (not in this video) was funny too.

Still so angry that Montoya went Nascar. The man is still one of the top ten best drivers on the planet and he's floundering in a series where your driving talent only counts for 10% of your success, (who you know and who you blow being the other 90). What a waste.
