After spending a week insisting the story that they had erased text messages surrounding the coup they were involved in was false, they had all the texts never erased, they supplied all those texts they claimed had not illegally been destroyed….all one of them, one single text. Like they’re thumbing their nose at congress, America, and the law.

2 weeks AFTER 2 official requests for the text messages, they went through with a total erasure of months of texts, including those twice subpoenaed, then spent months stonewalling subpoenas (something they should absolutely never even be capable of and IS definitely criminal), and another month recently falsely denying they erased the texts despite being ordered not to. That’s criminal, dereliction of duty, destruction of government property, and defying a federal subpoena. Every single agent should be prosecuted just like Bannon, and face 2 years for those crimes and sentenced to the maximum as corrupt traitors to America, corrupt law enforcement, and insurrectionists.

Time to disband them, and let Biden replace every officer now employed. No pensions, no benefits. They committed felonies as a group. If this isn’t prosecuted, rule of law is also destroyed in America…thanks Trump. Worst, most criminal, deadliest, most disgraced ex president ever.

This does mean any story the committee comes up with can’t be contradicted. They can decide what to say, and the secret service can eat a bag of baby dicks in silence. This is part of why they didn’t force Trump’s secret service agent to testify, he wasn’t trustworthy, was a well known liar, and had been defying subpoenas for his documentation for months. Also, there’s little chance he would show, like the other co-conspirators. They all claimed they can’t wait to testify,then claim they just can’t do it for no valid reasons.

Funny how the story changed 100% only AFTER they were subpoenaed. Not good for insurrectionists. Also being reported Trump intends to announce he’s running for president again before the midterms, despite the RNC and all cons up for election begging him not to. Sources say he’s outraged at the dozens of criminal and civil cases he’s facing and wants to use the office to shield himself from prosecution, and that’s his main concern and goal right now. Expecting another red tsunami? Lol.

1) not a trial. Sad you just can’t understand or accept that no matter how often it’s pointed out, and telling.

2) only the agents involved denied it, other agents admitted it’s been talked about between agents since Jan 2020. Those two agents, still in Trump’s employ today, and others, are also in big trouble for erasing their text and phone messages and records for the days surrounding the failed coup AFTER being ordered by the courts to preserve them, hardly unbiased or truthful witnesses. Another American institution who’s reputation and trustworthiness have been completely destroyed by Trumpists breaking rules and laws for great great grandad the Ochre ogre.

3) you don’t even know they weren’t called, only not publicly called. They don’t waste time publicly presenting witnesses who can only corroborate non criminal activities. They don’t list the witnesses that testify in secret behind closed doors….for their safety. Rabid Trumpterrorists have made serious death threats against every public witness, some have tried to follow through with them.

I'm suffering from serious confirmation bias on this because it agrees with a lot of what I heard around the 2014 revolution and since.

I was in Russia when they invaded Georgia in 2008. Specifically, I was staying with family in Ossetia, which is a mountain state that was split between Russia (North Ossetia) and Georgia (South Ossetia). Russia invaded because Georgia was attacking a Georgian town in South Ossetia. On the day of the invasion I was working in the mountains collecting water samples, and got a very close view of what was happening, got local confirmation of what was being reported, got to talk to refugees, etc.

Without going into it too much, when I got back to Ireland and saw what was being said and how it was being framed it was absolutely laughable and so obviously wrong. Some were worse than others - Sky News in the UK and Fox News being the worst offenders - but no major news media that I saw was giving the side of the story that I saw.

Also, when the UN report on what happened came out several years later it completely matched with my take on what happened.

The point of all this is that when the invasion happened earlier this year I knew there was no way I'd have the time or expertise to find out what's going on, even though I have friends and family in Ireland, Russia, and Ukraine. All sides are pushing their narrative hard. All sides are lying to us and manipulating us to the best of their ability. Depending on where you live you'll hear one side louder than the other, and the people around you will tend towards that narrative.

Personally I believe both sides have committed atrocities. I don't know who's been worse. I've seen both sides, including journalists, manipulating footage to support their narrative.

My only take on this is that invading a sovereign country is absolutely wrong except in extreme circumstances where every practical diplomatic means has been exhausted.

To come back to this video, my instinct was to promote it because it does seem to be a well informed take on the context of what's happening, but I've been hesitant because of my confirmation bias and because it muddies the message of "war is very very very bad".

Republican Ray Holmberg, who rose to become one of the state’s most powerful lawmakers in a career that spanned 46 years, said he would resign effective June 1. His term was scheduled to end on Nov. 30 and he already had announced in March that it would be his last.

“Recent news stories have become a distraction for the important work of the legislative assembly during its interim meetings,” Holmberg, 79, said in a statement announcing his resignation. “I want to do what I can, within my power, to lessen such distractions.”

Will should have declined his award, or at the least given his time to Questlove and the rest of the Summer of Soul creators that he stole the limelight from. His apology fell incredibly flat. The prosecution wouldn’t be about the punishment, you’re right, he would get community service and a tiny fine. It’s about showing there’s no free pass for the privileged, and not prosecuting proves there is one, at least in Hollywood. Not a good message to send to say the least.
