I’m disappointed you haven’t trotted out the still shot of the “fedsurectionist” holding his “badge” that suddenly proves that Jan 6 was a false flag operation by the fbi. It’s what your entire party is spewing these days.

Too bad it’s another total fabrication, easily debunked in seconds seeing as the person they claim is showing a badge is in fact convicted MAGA insurrectionist and self described idiot Kevin Lyons holding his vape, not an fbi agent with a badge. He got 4 years.

This is the newest dishonest insanity your entire party is grasping at, including all far right media, every MAGgot congressman, and all you rubes they got to believe it. SUCKERS! Your leaders think so too, they’re counting on it.

Don’t you think it’s odd that you accept being lied to as long as you enjoy the lie, and get enraged when facts and reality that don’t fit those lies, but enraged at the people telling you the facts and pointing out reality not at the liars?

Road Rager Shoots At Other Driver 11 Times

StukaFox says...

Yeah, I was supposed to be on one to Lyon about a week before everything shut down, thus fucking me out of the opportunity I worked a year for. Don't worry, I am leaving. Not where I wanted to originally -- looks like it's either Chile or Uruguay now, according to who likes my money more -- but I am leaving.

Ever heard that "ancient Chinese curse" thing, "May you live in interesting times"? It's not Chinese or ancient, but there are two others associated with it:
1. "May you come to the attention of powerful men."
2. "May all your wishes be granted."

Beware the second, especially in your case.

- I'm serious about the blood.

Naw, previous to the fucking idiot at 1600 completely botching the Covid response and turning America into the laughingstock of the world, a US passport would have gotten me to Lyon, France, where I had a job waiting. Thank fuck Estonia wants my start-up in their country, which at least offers me a way into the EU and away from this unspeakable shithole.

Sounds like you picked the wrong game to play. Your passport has always been worthless.

The Walk.

I thought Trump's rambling explanation of why he couldn't manage a slight incline was a Deep Fake or something. Then I realized no -- he's actually using his mouth to make the words I'm hearing. Then I realized that his BRAIN was making his mouth make the words I was hearing. Then I had that feeling like I did when the second plane hit on 9/11. Finally, I realized that next year at this time, I'll be in Lyon and giving zero fucks about what happens to this country. Then I smiled happily and enjoyed the rest of the trainwreck.

Police Who Murder Man In Public On Camera Fired

StukaFox says...

Newt, you've already lost.

You didn't lose with Trump in 2016, but with California's Prop 13 in 1978.

The goal of the Neocon movement was to decimate American public education because they knew that an educated population would never vote for the kind of shit they were selling, and because teachers (being educated and all) were a powerful Democratic voting block. Defunding public education was a win/win for them.

It worked beautifully.

The teacher's unions were starved. Public schooling imploded. We went from the most educated populace in the world to the point where 50% of the population can't find their own country on a map.

Then the real screw-job started with the wealth transfer. Unions were busted, jobs were moved overseas. The safety net that kept millions from abject poverty was dissolved ("welfare queens", "food-stamp cheats"). The Middle Class began to evaporate with about 10% climbing up the ladder and the rest being dumped into the street.

For people like me -- people with high-end skills and a college degree -- that shit worked out great. But people who aren't as lucky? Kinda sucks being them. So they got madder and madder. Luckily, there were dark-skinned people that this rage could be directed at. That good ol' American racism? That shit pays dividends if you play it the right way.

Now you have an increasing number of poorly educated people living in poverty with grievances. Hey, guess what -- we have a new tool to focus all that anger and it's called FOX News! They can show you whose dastardly plan it was to keep your poor, white self down on the farm while those FUCKING LIBERALS live it up in the cities!

Lather, rinse, repeat.

See Newt, people like Bob aren't an anomaly, they're the intended end result of a very well-conceived long-term plan by extraordinarily smart people who understood Chomsky, Orwell and Lasker better than you ever will. Bob is now the norm and you are the exception.

Go ahead and vote in Biden or Warren or even Sanders: it doesn't fucking matter because you can't vote out entrenched stupid. No matter who is sitting at 1600 Penn Ave, Bob is sitting in front of his computer, seething and being stupid. He's not going anywhere. He's not going to see things differently and he's damned well not going to get any smarter.

There's a shit-ton of Bobs in this country and their numbers are growing daily. What're you going to do with them? Put 'em in a camp somewhere? Shoot 'em? You cannot have Bobs and the America you want. That leaves you with exactly two choices: you pick up your gun and shoot them, or you pick up your passport and leave. It's one or the other. You might not like the taste of this shit sandwich, but you're going to eat it whether you like it or not.

Also, you think Bob's a little kooky? Go visit 4chan's /pol/, visit whatever 8chan became, visit the comments section of Zero Hedge, read the comments on FOX's YouTube videos: those motherfuckers make Bob look like a goddamn bastion of rationality. Those people, the ones who're yelling at their screens and pounding out febrile screeds? They're armed. They hate you. They want to kill you. The only reason they haven't is because they haven't reached critical mass yet. Give them a couple of years of post-Covid economic collapse and they'll get there.

I'll never forget the most important lesson a Holocaust Survivor taught me: "The smart Jews left first".

Good luck; see you in Lyon.

Yes, our country, it's values, morals, and ethics are all in dire shape, but I believe it's not beyond saving unless we give up and move to France....then it will probably be a Chinese colony in a decade.

What Happens When You Try to File a Complaint Against a Cop

JiggaJonson says...

I actually had this happen to me after I got a ticket. A $250 + $150 court fee ticket because I was going...wait for it...35 mph.

I got pulled over at this exact location, go on and try to find a speed limit sign going north. https://www.google.com/maps/@41.6110353,-87.508833,3a,75y,12.09h,82.7t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sxVT9eHxtCpzbkw2Q6wPCaQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

I remember because he whipped out from that liquor store parking lot, but long story short he wrote me a ticket and I didn't notice until later that the ticket said I got pulled over at Calumet and Lyons (right in front of the school down the road). It may be the case that the whole area is actually 25, but to be fair I was driving at 10 p.m. on my way home, whole fucking street empty.

Red n Blues as I approach the railroad tracks. I look at my speedometer "Is he pulling me over? I'm only going 35. Hmmm. Okay."

"Sir, do you have any idea how fast you were going?"
Sheepishly - "Thirty? Five?"
"THATS RIGHT!"

License - Reg, and he walks off, I look at it and say "Jesus christ! $250 for going 35?"

I find out about the court fees adding another $150 and then I see that he wrote the wrong street down "Hmmm what's this street he wrote ohhhHHHH right in front of the school where it's obviously 25 not near the railroad tracks eh? What a fucker"

I go to complain and the chief of police comes out and wants to know why I want to complain. He explains that it will go on the guys record and I should really just pay it because it could end up being a lot more trouble for me than it's worth. Strong insinuation in his voice, I left and didn't pay, didn't file complaint, went to court and explained.

Nothing happened to him, he didn't even get asked why he wrote the wrong street. It was just assumed that he was being honest.

Yeah, people don't write songs calling for "fuck the firemen" or "fuck the EMT's" - gee, I wonder why.

Why Do Americans Smile So Much?

StukaFox says...

In France -- Paris especially -- smiling at a stranger is seen as a sign of idiocy or senility. That said, some of the warmest smiles I saw on my trip to Europe were from French people in Lyon responding to my own smile.

Then again, maybe they just felt sorry for the senile, idiotic American.

I think you'll get a lot out of Jonathan Lyons' book The House of Wisdom (2010).

Interesting vid

There have been a few articles in The Register over the years as the rebuild was planned and executed:

I think it's probably worth mentioning that some of the other early British computers were interesting too:

Not only the Atlas, but J. Lyons & Co's LEO was interesting for being entirely commercial at a time when most computers were either research machines, or used by the military.

Seems to fit:

“Once a nation parts with the control of its currency and credit, it matters not who makes that nation's laws. Usury, once in control, will wreck any nation. Until the control of the issue of currency and credit is restored to government and recognized as its most conspicuous and sacred responsibility, all talk of the sovereignty of Parliament and of democracy is idle and futile.”

First Movie Ever Filmed (1896)

9547bis says...

I'm afraid this is a dupe of:
http://videosift.com/video/LArrivee-dun-train-en-gare-de-La-Ciotat-1895-by-Lumire

Also, this not the first movie ever filmed, it is predated by the "Roundhay Garden Scene", filmed in 1888 (although with only 2.1 seconds at 12 frames/second, it not considered a "proper" movie by many), and of course "La Sortie des usines Lumière à Lyon", where the same Lumière brothers filmed their own factory in Lyon, and is considered the first "real" movie. Interestingly this first movie, which therefore predates fiction in cinema, was in fact staged.
