lol, it's so obvious that Katie Couric is jealous of Miss Palin's stunning good looks and irrefutable moral judgements

Sarah Palin on Russia
I'm just so disgusted that Katie Couric has the gall to ask all these tough questions. She must be one of those anti-patriotic sexists that Fox is always talking about.
Palin Explains Why Bailout Will Help with Healthcare
Clearly this question and its rebroadcast by the conservatively funded liberal media is a sexist attack on Sarah Palin's preparedness to be Vice President. Seriously, who let a woman be a news anchor? Katie Couric should be fired and replaced with an interviewer who can treat Sarah with the dignity she deserves. She should be asked questions that fit the answers she's giving, such as "I need another two minutes of airtime before we can fill our half-hour segment, so could you explain to us why America is such a great nation?"
...
Have I offended everyone yet?
Palin: No Second Guessing Israel's "Security Efforts"
>> ^BillOreilly:
Katie Couric is such a hack, I'll upvote for Miss Palin defending Israel.
Second holocaust? By Iran's hand? That's fucking laughable. Sarah Palin < shit on the smartness scale.

Obama Blasts McCain on "Lipstick-gate"
From Politico.com: YouTube has removed a webad that casts Sarah Palin as the victim of sexism on the request of CBS, whose anchor Katie Couric was featured in the ad.
"One of the great lessons of that campaign is the continued and accepted role of sexism in American life," Couric is quoted in the ad. In the original clip, she was talking about Hillary Clinton; the ad applies her words to Sarah Palin.
Off-air hijinx: Coulter, O'Reilly, Couric, and Matthews
Who here wants to have sex with Katie Couric's mouth? Huh? Huh? Come on now. Don't be shy... raise those hands. That's it... be proud.

That would make much more sense...I'll get my coat.

I think the YouTube clip comes from the US HBO version, which was aired at around the same time as the BBC version. I suspect it was released around the same time so people would watch it on HBO, instead of getting it online.

That's a great point - I had wondered who Katie Couric was.
Perversely, I'm fairly sure this is the same version originally aired, otherwise I'm not sure how the American edit got up on YouTube so quickly. This copy was published pretty much the day after I watched it on tv.
You've got to expect some pandering to an international audience given Ricky Gervais's popularity, though. I didn't feel that it was any less aimed at the home audience than earlier stuff.

Interesting that this has been edited from the original BBC version I watched.
Katie Couric = Kate Adie
American Idol = X Factor
They have obviously dubbed this version to be more understandable to an American audience. That kind of pandering to American tastes displeases me.
