Huell Howser Tripping

Upvote for the thought of that bumpkin frying balls... I swear, that guy is the biggest doofus on California Public Television.

Oh man, that's awful!

Huell is actually one of the most beloved figures on CA PBS. I hardly know anyone who doesn't just absolutely love the guy.

Mormonism has a long history of bigotry, misogyny and hatred.

Title is missing "misogyny," but that's probably outside the scope of this video - it's a Mormon custom that when the man of the house is away, the woman of the house is not allowed to let any male guests in her home, even if the guest is waiting for the man of the house to arrive. I learned of this custom from a girl I knew who was raised in a Mormon household.
Call it what you will - enforcing monogamy (which only applies to women - polygamy may be illegal, but still practiced by many Mormons) and preventing opportunity for adultery, whatever... I call that institutionalized misogyny and a symptom of deeply ingrained distrust of any kind of feminine power.

I was raised Mormon and neither heard of nor saw any such custom. In addition, the Mormon church used to but no longer practices Polygamy, those people that do are from a church that branched off of and separated from the Mormon church.

It might grow on you. The first CD I actually heard from them was Show Your Bones (which I loved). It is a bit more rock where this (and I suppose their earlier stuff) was more dance/rock/club so I guess this is kind of in-between.

While I love playing Maps in Rock Band, this song is a bit too 80's-revival for me.

Alright, more than a bit.

Didn't look like he did anything to me. Just a blatant reincarnation of BillO, but that's not against the rules.

I suppose the issue is once someone is banned, do they have the right to make a new account?

Seems like something that should be discussed.

What did he do? I'm curious. I don't see where he broke any rules.

Wow... only took ya 2 days to get b&. I thought it would take you a week to screw up that bad...

I'm curious, too. Ask DFT, since he invoked it. But aside from being an asinine troll who blatantly misrepresented the views of a public figure (At least BillO was sort of funny in a sad attention-whore kind of way), I would have no clue.

Think you'd like to exchange FCs and have a friendly battle sometimes? I got back into Pokemon with DP because the competitive metagame really interested me, so between Pearl and Platinum I've got a good 200 or so hours into my games as well since I got Pearl this past summer.

Yo, didn't think to ask you this before, but do you play Pokemon D/P?

Yeah, actually. I've put over 350 hours into Diamond.

Shit.
And yes I do need 2 comments to express how lucky your dad is not to be dead.
It reminds me of a similar story where a massive oak collapsed in a busy and small playground, killing a 8 year old girl, and wounding 3 others.
so tragic.

There's a lot to take from this and be grateful about, not the least of which is the fact that this happened when there were no children in the area.

We're very fortunate to still live in a place that has more trees than people. Its a nice area, and my parents adopted their dog to help keep them in shape. They walk her twice a day, every day, and would play tennis together. My dad's in really great shape for a 50-year-old because of it. This could've been a lot worse, but the sheer randomness of this just boggles my mind.

I have the coolest, most awesome parents in the world. I'm grateful I still have them.
