1956 Footage Of Housewife's Acid Trip

Trancecoach says...

She's under the Spell of the Sensuous.

I think she's right to feel sorry for those who cannot see what she's trying to describe. Having met 3 of the four men profiled in Lattin's book (as well as Lattin, himself), my bias is that this is a story needing to be told, giving an honest and open depiction of the potential of the human mind under these entheogenic conditions, and cultural upheaval that it precipitated.

Psychedelic Origins of Xmas: Pharmacratic Inquisition

Trancecoach says...

From Google Video: For further research of the claims made in this video, AstroTheology & Shamanism: Thousands of years ago, in the pre monarchic era, sacred plants and other entheogenic substances highly respected for their ability to bring forth the divine, Yahweh, God, The Great Spirit, etc., by the many cultures who used them.

Often the entire tribe or community would partake in the entheogenic rites and rituals. These rites were often used an initiation into adulthood, for healing, to help guide the community in the decision process, and to bring the direct religious experience to anyone seeking it. In the pre literate world, the knowledge of psychedelic sacraments, as well as fertility rites and astronomical knowledge surrounding the sun, stars, and zodiac, known as astrotheology, were anthropomorphized into a character or a deity; consequently, their stories & practices could easily be passed down for generations. Weather changes over millennia caused environmental changes that altered the availability of foods and plant sacraments.

If a tribe lost its shamanic El-der (El - God), all of the tribe's knowledge of their plant sacraments as well as astronomical knowledge would be lost. The Church’s inquisitions extracted this sacred knowledge from the local Shamans, who were then exterminated.

DMT: The Spirit Molecule trailer

I'm looking forward to the day when movies on the psychedelic/entheogenic experience are as commonplace as the blockbuster action adventure. It's far more interesting and exciting and it'd get my $10.50 every time.

Krystle Cole descibes dimethyltryptamine trip

djsunkid says...

WOW! This is a great sift. 600 mg of DMT? Holy crap. She's cute.

This reminds me of the introduction of the book The Archaic Revival by Terence McKenna. He begins the book by suggesting that today's youth aren't taking ENOUGH drugs. This mirrors the sentiments of a friend of mine who was an acid dealer in the 70s. Kids try to take smaller and smaller amounts of LSD, Mushrooms, etc- "Let's see if I can get high off half a hit". Terence McKenna and my friend say that if you really value the entheogenic experience, the opposite strategy should be adopted.

600mg of DMT definitely falls into the category of "heroic dose". Wow.

Shpongle - Divine Moments of Truth

Farhad2000 says...

This is just all kinds of awesome.

Shpongle (IPA: ˈʃpɒŋ.gl̩) is considered to be one of the most important and influential psychedelic downtempo or Psybient music projects of recent years. The members are Simon Posford (aka Hallucinogen) and Raja Ram (one third of The Infinity Project). Their sound is a mix mainly consisting of sampled eastern ethnic instruments and western contemporary synthesizer-based psychedelic music. Posford is responsible for the synth and studio work while Raja Ram contributes with flute arrangements. They are both responsible for the visionary input. According to one interview, they commonly visualize the music together before they create it, and during the creation process.

Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), also known as N,N-dimethyltryptamine, is a powerful psychoactive substance. If DMT is smoked, injected, or orally ingested with an MAOI, it can produce powerful entheogenic experiences including true hallucinations (perceived extensions of reality). This is the come down...
