Maybe because the only thing he knows about singing is "i like it" or "i don't like it" ?
He knows a fair bit more than that, methinks.. he seems to be the only judge on television who actually knows wtf they're talking about. In this instance, perhaps not so much.. but I agree it sounded odd. I enjoy Britain's Got Talent for giving a chance to these people who challenge our preconceived notions of what forms talent comes in.
