Christian Rock Guitar Hero Clone: Guitar Praise

SDGundamX says...

>> ^omnistegan:
Certainly a terrible game, by game quality standards, but I don't really think it's a terrible idea. I grew up on all that music, and I knew pretty much every song/artist they mentioned. Though I'm an Atheist now, I would argue to the death that Skillet, and other Christian Rock bands, make great music.
To be entirely honest, if the game quality was up to that of GH or Rock Band, I would want this game.

Just to clarify, the * terrible was for the use of boobies to try to sell a supposedly family friendly product, the atrocious production values of the game, and the almost hilarious way the announcer explains the concept of the game as if no one has ever heard of Guitar Hero or Rock Band before.

Natural Selection when applied to 3d animation: This clip.

Obviously the animator can't hack it in any other realm, much like the Christian rock/punk/rap acts that wouldn't ever be heard by anyone but their poor parents if the church didn't accept and promote them.

Ain't nothing more hardcore than a cello

Yeah I can't even be bothered to read MOST of what you all wrote. Fuck them (actors, studios, etc) Heres my logic: How much money do you make for 6 months work? 30k (us) 50(us)? I don't know. these assholes are making MILLIONS. Obviously "piracy" isn't affecting them to bad. Anyone ever see the south park on music piracy? (I think its the same episode where Cartman forms a Christian rock band) Anyways they nail it on the head. Besides, at one point or another, these movies are going to be on TV where they are free for the recording. So what difference does it make if I "record" it now?

Mink, I TOTALLY agree with you! There are 3 types of categories that I place the Christian music I hear.

The one in this video is more of a modern-day praise music genre, most of which are simple, repetitive, and BORING. The music mainly stems from various Christian rock bands and the like.

The next genre is the older music, some of which was composed earlier this century. Also notable is the Zion's Harp. (A very well known songbook.) These are more traditional sounding hymns, that have a bit more complexity and are a lot more enjoyable to listen to. (For me at least.)

And finally, there's the old-style classical stuff, done by Bach, Handel, etc. I think everyone can agree that this stuff is awesome.

But in any case, it all depends on the listener. There are those that would definitely enjoy this music. I'm just not one of them.

well, i know it's a touchy subject and all, but THE MUSIC REALLY REALLY SUCKS. i would definitely take christianity more seriously if it didn't attract the worlds worst songwriters. See cartman's christian rock band south park for more details.

As a moderately religious Christian, I say this about the people in the film: freaky-deaky.

Also, to quote the great Hank Hill on Christian rock: "You aren't making Christianity any better, you're just making rock and roll worse!"

Nirvana - Hear Shaped Box Backwards (Tin Foil Time)

NordlichReiter says...

OK this back masking, is good. But nothing tops the Doors, or Stairway To Heaven songs, or the Beatles for that matter. You can record sayings backwards with your words, its not hard. Pink Floyd has one on the wall CD that says Congratulations you have just found the secret message, send your answer to old pink care of Funny Farm and then some strange name of a city. This is not a lie, it is truth because all they did was record the words and then put them on the record backwards. MSI (Mindless Self Indulgence) has a song called back mask, that tells you to clean your room, eat your veggies, and the like. It can be done, but these other ones like the nirvana one, the mind hears what the eye sees. If some one hasnt seen the lyrics backwards, then they would never know its cryptic message. The point is you cannot prove that it was done on purpose because it would have to be perfect in its annunciation, and flow like regular language for any one to understand what is being said with out the lyrics on the screen.

That song hi my name is by Eminem. If you play that one backwards you get It is slim, its eminem, its eminem. So another example of the fact that it can be done.

Take to heart that if you read the music, and then speak the words in verse specified then you will not get the same sounds, they have to be sung. So that is another way that message in unintentional situations are disproved. Believe me i would like to know how Stairway to Heaven got so bashed over its "If there's a bustle in your hedgerow don't be alarmed now its just a sprinkling for the may queen. Yes there are to paths you can go by but in the long run, there's still time to change the road you 're on." Flip that around and you get a satanic message or so is said, but i think it was just some idiots from a hardcore Christian "Rock is the devil" type people. Besides if it was intentional, who cares its great music.

Any way i think the messages found in these by people are cool, just don't try and force this stuff to come out into the public because it will only cause stupidity. Take it with a glass of water, then think before you speak to rashly on this stuff.

Christian Fundamentalist Pop: "God Hates Fags"

I gave the site a lookover. It must be real... No satire. Christian rock is sooo contrived and clueless. I'm annoyed and embarrassed for them at the same time.

On the "Love God's Way" website, there is a section for parents. Note the list of bands that are good or bad for your gay child.

Kansas was a gay band? LOL. Oh yes..."Dust in the Wind" is sooo gay.

This is a sad site.

I am thinking I am going to start voting a lot more videos down, there are certainly enough people to offset my tastes. This video was close, but, I kept feeling a Christian Rock thing (which is funny on its own) and then they showed the black dude right when the obviously black singer chimed in.
