The sleeping years - setting fire to sleepy towns
If you would be so kind, Mr. Siftbot, please cart this video down to *beggar's canyon for some exposure? Hardly anyone has checked out the laid back and mellow sound, or the cello, or the Sacred Heart Basilica in the background. Maybe they were put off by the dodgy thumbnail image?

Maybe you would like this one too then, http://videosift.com/video/The-sleeping-years-setting-fire-to-sleepy-towns
with Michelle So on cello and some bloke singing.

I liked the cello too. I thought the video as a whole was close to being very good, but didn't quite keep it up. Someone in the yt comments thought there was too much cello!

Upvote for the cello, I'm a sucker for it. I don't particularly like her, but I know someone who does, I'll pass it on
Pfffft, there is no such thing!

I don't know who she is, but she is going to be HUGE
Sounds like.... meh. It sounds like some instrument is missing... the cello could be louder... Grrrr anyone have the same impression?
Richie Havens performs Freedom at Cannes 2008
He doesn't look any different than he did 40 years ago. For that matter, he doesn't sound appreciably different either.
I was actually going to get around to this song, still might. I could have done with ALOT less Penn, otherwise a very nice venue. The female cello player is artful. Come to think of it(pun not intended, this time) all cello players should be attractive females.
Weren't you banned? Good!
Apocalyptica "End Of Me" feat. Gavin Rossdale
Wait, this is Apocolyptica? I haven't listened to them in a very long time but when I did all they did was play Metallica songs on Cellos. When did they start sounding like Nickelback?
Excellent in-studio performance from Judgement Day
amazing cello. amazing. violin needs some work, but still very good.
Pomplamoose - Always in the Season
I'm really digging their "here's the video of the instruments being played" thing, especially the ones showing "yes, this is a chorus of many Natalies." The superimposed parts in this video worked well for the violin and cello, too.
>> ^mxxcon:
i didn't like this song. their other ones were better.
I wasn't really into this one either until after the first minute or so, but I felt like it really found its form as it picked up. When it started I was thinking, "this doesn't sound very good," and not because of the "retro" filters - something about the singer's normally-charming rasp, I guess.>> ^brain:
There's something about watching the singer's face as she stares off and sings beautifully.
There's also something about watching her stare through you.
If they want people to send goats, they should just loop a video of her staring at the camera with that piercing gaze and overlay a flashing "SEND A GOAT".
Philip Glass - Symphony for Eight (Cello Octet Amsterdam)
Ok, thats actually pretty cool... if you listen minus the video or details one would think there is a violin or two thrown in there. Never realized the cello had that kind of range.

Ukrainian kid plays Vivaldi on an Accordion... amazing.
And you know this because...?
>> ^rosser99:
And if I haven't already ostracized myself, the very simple fact is that the time needed to achieve artistic proficiency on violin (or viola, cello, etc...) is far greater than is needed for the accordion. If this kid had spent as much time on violin as he has spent on accordion, he would be very run-of-the-mill indeed.
