California just approved $12 BILLION to spend on our homeless issues. Red states pass laws essentially making homelessness a crime, so many homeless migrate to “blue states” where services exist and they aren’t put in jail for sleeping in public or loitering.

Texas just made it illegal for homeless people to camp in tents.

Back when I was doing my then compulsory army service our country was still housing thousands of Russian troops which had come 20 years earlier in 1968 to keep the peace or something (temporarily). Totally agree….profitable companies shouldn’t get welfare/tax breaks. Non profitable companies shouldn’t be artificially propped up forever (unless they’re essential).

I would go farther…tax leeway at first to help them become established companies, but if they accept the tax breaks and still fail, the company assets should be forfeit to repay the taxes unpaid like any other debt. If you accept a break and succeed, pay it back over your first profitable decade with slightly higher taxes. Help up, not handouts. That’s my druthers.
