The man who used an AR-15 to shoot up a Colorado gay nightclub killing 5 and injuring 25 is the grandson of a MAGA politician Randy Vogel who praised the January 6 insurrection.
We are also learning he had called in a bomb threat against his mother and had an armed standoff with police in 2021, and despite this violent history was still able to easily legally get an AR-15 thanks to Republicans opposing ANY Common sense gun regulations.
Sure sounds like another MAGA terrorist went on a murder spree….party of death, debauchery, and destruction. 🤦‍♂️

The FBI arrested Catherine Levy, a strong trump supporter, for allegedly calling in a bomb threat to Boston Children's Hospital following the right-wing conspiracy smear campaign against the hospital alleging it was providing gender-affirming permanent sex reassignment care to infants, children, and adolescents….and you MAGOTS are moronic enough to not just believe it based on absolutely nothing, but to make bomb threats against critically ill children over this nonsense.

Catherine Leavy, hard core Trumpist, arrested after she called in a bomb threat to Boston Children’s hospital based on the lie that young children were having hysterectomies as part of sex reassignment and were being mutilated intentionally under the assumption that every child born is trans….all nonsense bullshit spouted by right wing talking heads like Carlson…forcing the rapid evacuation of critically ill children. For some reason, the capitol police never fired a shot in defense of congress. Bomb threats are prolific. I agree, most internet threats are people shooting their mouths off, but it's impossible to filter those out and keep only credible threats, so you either consider them all credible (and prosecute them) or consider them all not credible (and hope there's not one nutjob in the gang of asshats.) I think that's a decision that should be left up to each individual based on the risk level they are comfortable with, and see no problem with people choosing either way, but do have a problem with people saying only their decision is proper and someone else's is unthinkably evil and duplicitous based solely on their comfort with risk.
If it's OK for big business to be safe, it's OK for individuals, IMO. Flights are canceled due to bomb threats, so some people are stopped from flying, not the majority though, they are merely inconvenienced, and once the threat is passed they fly on. That wasn't an option in this case.

I don't "see how my arguments don't hold water", I never said anything of the sort, and you can't explain how they don't, still. In fact, you can't seem to even comprehend my argument. You certainly haven't replied to it.

What I did day is I was incorrect about one minor point because apparently she canceled the one event NOT on the advice of the police (even though at the time that's what was reported)....but because the police in this case didn't take safety or death threats seriously at all and refused to limit firearms at the event in any way or offer her/the audience any protection, so canceling this one event was intelligent and proper.

I made the point quite clearly above, I'll repeat it for your convenience. If this was an airplane flight with a bomb threat, it would have been canceled. It's statistically far more likely that the shooting threat is credible than any airplane bombing threat, so if it's reasonable to cancel the threatened flight (and they do), it's more reasonable to cancel the event.

You are probably statistically right, but if you got dozens of disgustingly threatening emails telling you people are watching you and are going to run you over the next time they see you on the street, including one person being specific about the time and place they'll do it, would you go walking on the street they reference at the time they specify with no protection? I wouldn't, even if the cops told me 'it's unlikely they'll really try to run you and those with you down, it rarely happens'.
Now, lets say it's an airplane, and someone claims they put a bomb on it. What do you think happens? I don't see much difference, people have shot up large groups more often than people have bombed planes...so they should just assume it's a fake bomb threat and let them fly, because it's more likely to be fake, eh? But that's not what happens.

I'm upvoting the video and the program for shining light into these matters, but I disagree with his argument in this particular situation.

As a person living in NYC, I've had my share of bomb threat experiences. The closet one I've had was back in 2008 or 2009 when a man from Jackson Heights was planning to bomb the 42nd street Times Square station via the 7 train line. I too was living in Jackson Heights at the time, and know that there is a sizable Afghani and Pakistani community there.

I used to pick up lunch and did my groceries from Indian restaurants and supermarkets. And when I've heard of the news of this terrorist attack attempt, I personally felt the dangers and the seriousness of the problem. The alleged attacker was from the very community I was living in, where I assumed I knew and was comfortable in, in the same neighborhood and rode the same train I rode in.

But the most important point to me was that this man was willing to sacrifice people's lives, not just any people but his own community, to get the job done. he wasn't planning to bomb the wall street, the city hall or U.N. Building. This man was going to plant the bomb on the 7 train line, the exact same line where majority of riders are from Jackson Heights.

The most shocking point of the story is that he got the terrorist attack idea from his local imam from a Mosque in Jackson Heights. Their own fucking neighborhood. And yet, the community had no idea about their doings.

Now this got me thinking. if you are a muslim, you must take care of your community and throw out the bad seeds. When someone is using your name or what you stand for something you do not identify yourself with, PUT A STOP TO IT. Blissful ignorance does not help anyone. These crazed people from your own neighborhood was about to kill you, and yet nobody had any idea this was happening in the community.

Just claiming that you are different from them, and blaming others for not being able to tell the difference is an excuse to your laziness. You haven't done anything to pull yourself apart, and identify those who are different from what you stand for. If the muslim community was more active in sifting out the bad seeds from their own community, then there would be no need for government to step in and invade your privacy. It is ultimately your laziness that gets your rights violated.

You live in this country, you live in the same neighborhood, your life is threatened by the psychos who really don't care how many innocent people they kill, including people of their own community, as long as they do whatever they feel like doing. This is YOUR problem (more like your life) as it is for every other ethnic groups in your community. Stop being selfish, stop being lazy. Stop making excuses. If you want your rights back, then TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR COMMUNITY FIRST.

Well, I can think of two scenarios.

1) CIA can't do its job because of all the regulations, and NYC is taking matters into its own hands. After all, it's had a history of terrorist attacks, and still constantly under constant bomb threats.

2) NYC is reluctant to give full jurisdiction of city matters under government control. Hence they would rather expand NYPD to do its own surveillance and get the budjet approved for it by the government, rather than having CIA come in and operate by their own rules.

I'd say both scenarios apply.

Tell me about it, I got a ticket for driving without insurance about 5 years ago right as I was moving. I forgot about it and it has ballooned into over 4 thousand dollars in fines that I have to pay before they will let me renew my licensee; the licensee I need to keep the job I need to pay the fines for the ticket I got half a decade ago...FML, and FTG (fudge the gobment!)

The problem is that we're only seeing a small portion of the school's curriculum out of context. As Ms. Hughes points out, this wasn't really suprising and there's a lot worse going in in the school. Here's a typical day:
Geometry - how to use angles and geometry to hypothetically assasinate the president.
Chemistry - how to use bunsen burners and test tubes to hypothetically create a fertilizer bomb to blow up the IRS.
English - how to use pursuasive writing to hypothetically write a terrorist bomb threat.
Biology - how to use petri dishes to hypothetically smuggle explosives past bomb-sniffing dogs.
Drivers ed - how to use proper signaling to hypothetically drive a truck filled with explosives through a government checkpoint.
