Teabaggers Begin Campaign of Terror Against Democrats

NordlichReiter says...

Netrunner,

I hardly feel pride for being independent. What I fear the most is a rampant majority, and party politics. I see both sides majority as being a threat liberty.

There have been too many years of party politics. Yet here we are today. With two parties still, and here I am arguing party politics with you!

Antiwar protests? If the media isn't covering them then the general public probably doesn't give a pint of piss.

Look through my recent comments I think you may find that I already think what the Tea Baggers have become is a farcical stupid, uneducated racket of home schooled douche bags. In fact, I thought that long before any of this health care shit ever came up in the news.

I now know, from your comment, that Cantor was lying. I knew before hand that he was a liar. Someone had to post that video, but it sure as hell isn't going to be any of you. I thought about discarding it. But what good would that do? People need to see the bullshit, all of it.

We are in agreement that the violence is stupid, being carried out by stupid people following stupid rhetoric. Evidence in this video below: http://videosift.com/video/Not-Just-Dems-Getting-Threats-Republicans-Too

I'm done trying to even out the party bullshit, someone resurrect that conservative idiot, what was his name? CptPlanet I think, yea. Here's how I really feel about the state of politics now. Either you're a Democrat, or your with the bad guys. Well excuse me for giving a shit about the minority. I'll go back to being an elitist independent now.

nazi reference: the music

us military reference: the majority of the video

In reply to this comment by conan:
erm... Exactly where is the comparison between Nazi aggression and US aggression? I did see some US flags in there, but i don't think they were used in a specific anti-american way but just because the by far biggest part of military footage (fiction or reality) shows US military and the creators of this video had to take their clips from somewhere. But where was the Nazi reference?

Maybe Mink mixed up the german word for german ("deutsch") with dutch (our northern neighbors)?

What i do like best is the fact that this video mixes two types of "propagandas", scenes that are taken from ads (i guess) and scenes that are taken from anti-war movies. I think it's pretty strong, also because of the great music choice and the very slow change of mood / setting from heroic to horrible.

the nazi reference in this video was the choice of the music, infact. its an old german song, but the nazis used it frequently in their propaganda radio broadcasts and such; it was almost their "theme song".

but i agree with you, the add is anti-war, not anti american.

Pamela Anderson on Sarah Palin: Suck It

HI! I don't recall addressing anything of this nature to you! But thanks for the personal biography! You may need some work on the writing part, though!>> ^MINK:

HI! I have fired assault rifles and handguns, probably more accurately than you, and oh yeah i can gut a rabbit, the heart and kidneys have high nutritional value.
So does that qualify me to call your behaviour in this thread dickish?
HA! Gun totin' antiwar ex-RAF socialist veggie avengers to the rescue!
Can you fly a plane? because I can, so if you can't then i guess your juvenile debating rules mean you can't answer me back now, so you just have to suck it.

Senator Chuck Hagel Has a Question for Gen. Petraeus...

Farhad2000 says...

Hagel, who considered running for the GOP presidential nomination as an antiwar candidate, told the foreign policy experts that he would give the Bush Administration “the lowest grade of any I’ve known.”

“I have to say this is one of the most arrogant, incompetent administrations I’ve ever seen or ever read about,” Hagel said, according to our colleague Robert Kaiser, who attended the speech. In case his audience didn’t get the point, Hagel also said: “They have failed the country.”

Activism = Targeted Inactivism (Sift Talk Post)

rougy says...

The antiwar marching was just short of being useless.

All it did was illustrate how many people were against the war. It did nothing to stop it. It didn't even slow it down.

General strikes will slow down the war machine.

If once a month - or better, once a week - the lawmakers in Washington had no waitresses or bartenders or pizza delivery people or receptionists or delivery men, they might start to take notice.

And, of course, if people stopped showing up to work in and around the specific companies that make the war possible - the bullet makers, the gun makers, the bomb makers, etc. - that would be even better.

A monthly, or weekly, general strike throughout the USA and specifically in the power centers, will impact the system. We don't need permits to do that. The police can't arrest us and throw us in vans. The Feds can't videotape us, figure out who we are, and tap our phones.

We won't change anything until we impact the machinery of war.

Moby supports regulation of the internet

MINK says...

you know how a venn diagram works?

so i can agree with him on one thing, and disagree on others.

we all want a free internet, remember.

and sony are a big company but it doesn't mean they aren't losing sales due to people deciding they don't want to pay for their crap any more.

i guess maybe i trust the market on this one a bit more than you, that's all.

i don't always trust the market. and i stopped traffic in london in 2003.

would you rather i choose an antiwar guy like Ron Paul? He is also against handing the FCC regulatory powers. I am always surprised that guys like you are in favour of that sort of thing, and you call it "freeing the internet!" but there ya go.

Alan Shore telling it like it is

flyer says...

No doubt. I'm saying that these speeches would never be heard outside TV Land. They are too precious and stagey, juries are more jaded looking, the judge wouldn't take counsel's sitting in the witness chair and let the attorney talk over him, etc.

The prosecuting attorney wouldn't be so neocon, and the defense attorney would give a long antiwar, anti-Bush rant--both are too polarizing for a mixed jury. Defense was enjoyable and cathartic for me, but totally made for TV.

It's great to see some actual truth on network TV though.
