VideoSift 101: tags (Howto Talk Post)

gwiz665 says...

For me tags are primarily supposed to be clickable - so you search and find stuff that's directly related to the tag. This is why you should always keep stuff that supposed to be together, together, not separated by commas.

South Park, Eric Cartman, trey parker,
not: south, park, eric, cartman, trey, parker

Searching for "south" gives me crap on a stick.

Moreover the tags can hint at what's in the video, so people with their nano-second attention spans can get another incentive to actually watch the video.

What if there were no religions, only atheism?

Ugh. Am I the only one who's utterly had it with South Park's slacker nihilism? Trey Parker and Matt Stone are about as unbearable as the kind of smug, unfit dullard that keeps telling you to vote for Ron Paul.

Feature Request - *notlong *notbrief (Sift Talk Post)

burdturgler says...

>> ^Deano:
Can I just point out that if something is notlong then it simply doesn't have the Long tag. And the same with Brief.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying but .. for example:

This isn't long but has the long tag
and this isn't brief but has the brief tag.

Team America - The Bit Where They Shag

my15minutes says...

Due to a puppet sex-scene, the movie was given a NC-17 Rating by the MPAA.

The scene was edited twelve times before they received the R rating they were shooting for. Trey Parker later admitted that the scene was originally added to distract the MPAA from the rest of the film's subject matter. On Matt Stone's urging, the scene was reinstated to the "unrated" DVD.

Sesame Street Liberation Front Propaganda Tape

justinianrex says...

I call bullshit on anyone who can't see that this a HORRIBLE parody by someone who obviously watched a)Team America: World Police and b)any of the myriad execution videos available on the web. It sucks which is why I'm not voting for it but it's certainly not racist, and why do you have sympathy for terrorists?

Trey Parker & Matt Stone convinced me of this point (even though I'm not really a South Park fan) when they talked about why all the terrorists in Team America talk like "durka durka jihad jihad." Their point was that these people should be mocked & ridiculed.

Comedy Central and gold star powers (Sift Talk Post)

my15minutes says...

i haven't embedded from them, and won't, until they just fucking let people watch.

oh. and it's not CC's fault, directly, imho.
Viacom blows donkeys. (CC, Mtv, Vh1, etc) i think i may have mentioned that earlier elsewhere, but i think smibbo would agree, it
bears repeating.

i wish Stewart, Colbert, Trey Parker, and Matt Stone would start a telethon, to buy CC right out from under Viacom, in a hostile takeover.

maybe i'll make that my next blog entry.

because it's a goddamn shame that half of what i think is the only watchable TV in the states, is owned by tightwad, proprietary, short-sighted fuckwads.

And, well, *catsanddogs

For those of you new to the series, in Kenny vs Spenny the 'cheating'/rule-twisting by Kenny is like a running gag.

Exec Prods are Matt Stone and Trey Parker of South Park fame? Heh.

Alan Watts : I

If anyone has the power to do so, please revive this. Thanks.

Yes I know I messed up Trey Parker and Matt Stone's names in the description. My attempt to fix it is what screwed up the video in the first place.

It's nice to hear an Alan Watts lecture that's so down to earth and accessible. And incredibly Trey Parker and Mat Stone's animations work really well with it. Makes me want to read his books again.
