Wingnut Media and the Fringe: A Growing History of Violence

The art of misdirection. While the radical left-wing moonbat media (all but FOX) makes this yet another exploitive Rahm Emmanuel-level "crisis", Obama's failed economic and social policies stack up like dirty dishes. You can't just sweep 10% unemployment and kissing Arab tyrant ass at the expense of Israel under the rug.
Welcome back, Carter!

People as stupid as you are why this problem exists.

That Rush Limbaugh can spew hatred all day long and then claim that the empathetic, tree-hugging, peace-loving liberals are the evil party and there are sheep that hear this abortion of logic and actually BELIEVE it, that's what's causing the problem.

These extremists and their brainwashed followers are an extremely small minority. You are consistently delusional, so it's no surprise you've decided that you're some how a great driving force in national politics. You lost that election. You got raped in that election. RAPED. The national climate hasn't changed THAT much, even despite your never-ending draw of the victim card and spewing of baseless hatred and lies.

We all know that if the economy recovers under Obama that you're going to credit Dubya. We already know that, because that's the pattern with absolutists who don't give a shit about reality, and you're obviously brainwashed by a couple of them. Never mind that you're judging the man on policies that have barely had any time to make an effect. And who even knows what social policies you're talking about, since practically nothing has really changed on that front.

Please, sit down and stfu and next time you deem us worthy to share in your delusional world, please bring some solid proof to back up the dreck. tia

stem cell research (Blog Entry by jwray)

It's just really counter-productive for the pro-stem-cell advocates to take for granted (or refrain from disputing) the false premises upon which anti-stem-cell beliefs are based.

Politics has become the art of misdirection in which concerns are sidestepped by appeals to only the benefit side of the cost-benefit analysis.

Well, if industrial civilization has caused "irreparable" damage, why worry?

Concern for the environment is admirable; the self-sealing ignorance encouraged by alarmists is not.

The art of misdirection is not only used by magicians but by hucksters and politicos. You don't sell vacuum cleaners without first sprinkling dirt.

Private property and self-ownership are what make clean technology possible, not the socialist Central Committee.

Nonetheless I praise fedquip for caring, enough to wake people up.

The Art of Misdirection. (see Penn and Teller)
One can easily do this on a smaller scale in any Supermarket at a busy 6:30 pm weekday when checkers are swamped and in a zombie-like state. Especially convenient are the self-checkout lines where you scan your own items.

Penn & Teller Bullsh*t - Conspiracy Theories - Moon Landing

pallen says...

This is a pretty typical attempt by mainstream media to debunk a myth or a conspiracy. I'm not saying I support the moon landing conspiracy theories. I honestly haven't read much about them. But if you're really looking to make a sound argument against a set of claims such as these, you don't bring in this guy to represent the other side. While the moon landing conspirators may well be wrong, I doubt he's the brightest or most credible advocate amongst them. The shot of him chugging the vodka from the gallon bottle demonstrates my point exactly; they aren't attacking the claims, they're attacking one messenger and hoping they can take down the conspiracy theory with him.

If their goal was to make everyone laugh at the conspiracy theorists and call them crazy idiots, then this segment was probably pretty effective. If their goal was to prove that the conspiracy theory itself is "bullshit", then they missed the mark entirely. This is just 7 minutes of name calling, not a scientific examination of facts. Then again, they started as magicians. They're quite adept at the art of misdirection.
