The Outer Limits intro (remake)
We had a roller coaster at King's Dominion (VA) called The Outer Limits: Flight of Fear. I guess the contract ran out, 'cause now it's just called Flight of Fear.
The Saga of the Winnipeg Jets 1972-1996
Looks like classic Canadian hockey team bites the dust has successfully tested the outer limit of Sifters' group interest in hockey vids.
IBM: Powers Of Ten (amazing 9 minute science video)
A fantastic short film by Charles and Ray Eames for IBM: 'dealing with the relative size of things in the universe, and the effect of adding another zero'. This was originally posted by Mlx, but was discarded after pulled from YouTube (I emailed the Sift to check if I could post this, but got no reply). Check out: The Official Powers of Ten website - in delayed celebration of Powers Of Ten day (10/10)...
A bit more information: "Powers of Ten explores the relative size of things from the microscopic to the cosmic. The 1977 film travels from an aerial view of a man in a Chicago park to the outer limits of the universe directly above him and back down into the microscopic world contained in the man's hand. Powers of Ten illustrates the universe as an arena of both continuity and change, of everyday picnics and cosmic mystery. The film also demonstrates the Eameses' ability to make science both fascinating and accessible."
A oouple of Powers Of Ten inspired videos: The Simpsons intro and The Men In Black outro.
Children Of Men Trailer
There is an Outer Limits episode with this kind of idea. The episode Dark Rain tells an idea similiar to this story of a couple who have a baby when no one is supposed to and they must escape the government and take their newborn child somewhere safe. They achieve this with the help of a group that on the surface is a terrorist group but in reality actual helps the few people that have had a child.
