Covid Vaccines: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)

luxintenebris jokingly says...

great idea. was leaning more toward the Russian capsule in the leg via umbrella delivery system but probably easier to feint accidental shootings. nerf guns would be good cover.

heard they are working on nasal sprays for the vaccine. that'd make it easier. replace the mosquito fogger w/an idiot fogger.

the big-game idea has some merit.

too bad the 'net couldn't spread a lie that side effects of COVID were, suffers suddenly became more tolerate, caring, and gained greater public awareness. mass inoculations would be sponsored by the Heritage Foundation.

Looks like we'll have to start using tranquilizer guns with vaccine darts to reach herd immunity.

Never thought I'd be a gun advocate but, here I am. Better subscribe to GUNS & AMMO now.

OMFG...can you even fucking read?
From your article I found on my own.....

...the forces of labor came together with the forces of capital to keep the peace and oppose Trump’s assault on democracy.

The handshake between business and labor was just one component of a vast, cross-partisan campaign to protect the election–an extraordinary shadow effort dedicated not to winning the vote but to ensuring it would be free and fair, credible and uncorrupted. For more than a year, a loosely organized coalition of operatives scrambled to shore up America’s institutions as they came under simultaneous attack from a remorseless pandemic and an autocratically inclined President. Though much of this activity took place on the left, it was separate from the Biden campaign and crossed ideological lines, with crucial contributions by nonpartisan and conservative actors. The scenario the shadow campaigners were desperate to stop was not a Trump victory. It was an election so calamitous that no result could be discerned at all, a failure of the central act of democratic self-governance that has been a hallmark of America since its founding.

Their work touched every aspect of the election. They got states to change voting systems and laws and helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding. They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time. They successfully pressured social media companies to take a harder line against disinformation and used data-driven strategies to fight viral smears. They executed national public-awareness campaigns that helped Americans understand how the vote count would unfold over days or weeks, preventing Trump’s conspiracy theories and false claims of victory from getting more traction. After Election Day, they monitored every pressure point to ensure that Trump could not overturn the result. “The untold story of the election is the thousands of people of both parties who accomplished the triumph of American democracy at its very foundation,” says Norm Eisen, a prominent lawyer and former Obama Administration official who recruited Republicans and Democrats to the board of the Voter Protection Program.

For Trump and his allies were running their own campaign to spoil the election. The President spent months insisting that mail ballots were a Democratic plot and the election would be “rigged.” His henchmen at the state level sought to block their use, while his lawyers brought dozens of spurious suits to make it more difficult to vote–an intensification of the GOP’s legacy of suppressive tactics. Before the election, Trump plotted to block a legitimate vote count. And he spent the months following Nov. 3 trying to steal the election he’d lost–with lawsuits and conspiracy theories, pressure on state and local officials, and finally summoning his army of supporters to the Jan. 6 rally that ended in deadly violence at the Capitol.

You call that defrauding America? You are absolutely totally bat shit crazy, it describes a bipartisan effort defending democracy from Trump's baseless partisan attacks on it, on voting, and on truth....claiming if he doesn't win, it's rigged, if he wins, it's perfect. No where did anyone even imply voting machines defrauded anyone, it clearly states the obvious opposite, that they not only didn't have any serious issues, but also a physical paper backup that, in multiple recounts, still matched the results the machines gave.

You are such a non stop and just dumb liar. No doubt it effects your family life horribly.

I don't think it's uncommon for PD to reuse these Public Awareness ads other from countries. I've seen reruns of an anti-drunk driving ad made in Hong Kong (with clearly distinguishable skyscrapers found only in HK) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada occasionally (most often during the holidays) for years.

Marksmanship Fundementals from Lon Horiuchi

There is no statute of limitations in the offense of the First degree (premeditated) murder by Federal agents of Randy Weaver's wife and son in 1992. Justice has not been served yet.
I sent the following message to Idaho Governor Butch Otter via both is Facebook page and via a direct link to his state website. I'd like to challenge all of you to do the same. Just copy & paste everything below the line. His contact information is at the bottom.

Remembering the Real Story of Ruby Ridge Idaho - August 21 1992
From >> [url redacted]
Uncovering government corruption at Ruby Ridge
According to FBI Grand Jury Testimony, US Marshals were involved in the cover up, the media, and the story from the Weaver's perspective...

Today, you are considered an "extremist" by the ADL and SPLC if you think the actions taken here by the Federal Government were out of hand. For the first time in US history, the FBI was given permission from cabinet members of the George HW Bush administration to change their Rules of Engagement to, "can and should shoot to kill" effectively rendering the US Constitution useless. A young boy was shot in the back and killed by US Marshals, and FBI sniper Lon Horiuchi later shot and killed Vicky Weaver while she was unarmed and holding her 10 month old baby in her arms. This incident serves as an educational tool to all Americans on just how useless our coveted Constitution is to the Federal Government when you cross them. I do not endorse violence towards the Federal Government. This is simply the closest I could come to the real truth without media/Government disinformation.

You have to ask yourself, even in this age of information, why is it so hard to find the truth about Ruby Ridge?

I have a friend who was a Deputy United States Marshall at that time. He wasn't involved with Ruby Ridge, but he knew 2 agents who were. He told me:

"I knew two of the guys in the woods that weaver's son engaged. It was a mess from the start. If the dog would not have smelled the surveillance team nothing would have happened that day. It all ended badly. Stupid ATF case was bad from the start. Weaver would have been acquitted if he would have just gone back to court. Travesty of bad decisions all around."

The fact remains that it wasn't Randy Weaver's fault he didn't make it to the court appearance. It was all due to an intended snafu on the part of the Feds. They set him up to murder him and his family with extreme prejudice!

At the Nuremberg trials: Principle IV states: "The fact that a person acted pursuant to order of his Government or of a superior does not relieve him from responsibility under international law, provided a moral choice was in fact possible to him". This principle could be paraphrased as follows: "It is not an acceptable excuse to say 'I was just following my superior's orders".

In my opinion, the officers involved should be charged with first degree murder, and those who assisted the operation should be charged and tried as accessories to first degree murder. Until this happens, we will never again be "One nation under God." This travesty screams for justice!

If we are ever going to get anyone to open the case again and get these murderers charged and tried for their crimes against Americans, we need to raise public awareness of the facts involved. The best way to do it is to get as many people as possible to share the link below or copy & paste it and post it in as many places as possible. I would also suggest you copy and paste the link and send it to every state legislator and the current governor of Idaho.

fates warning-best progressive metal band you never heard

artician says...

It always amazes me when a group of talent has been around for so long, yet never makes it into the general public awareness.

Not super impressed with their rhythms, but that coupled with the clean vocals reminds me of early Stone Temple Pilots (admittedly 15 years later, but still one of my favorite bands).

It's upsetting that I can't think of another late-career band that 'made it big' decades after touring. Victims of the market, I suppose, with this stupid fetish for only picking up the new, young acts. Otherwise these guys would be pretty ripe for some audiences today.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll check out their other stuff for certain.

You could have been kidding, your sarcasm here is wildly misplaced. Or maybe it's that stupid sarcasm button and the fact that people rely on it too much...

You're right that they're bloodsuckers and always will be. However, when the public votes with their dollars, corporate behaviour changes very quickly, and those who don't get left in the dust. Remember in the late 80s when manufacturers suddenly started making environmentally friendly products even though the profit margins were less? That was a response to public awareness of environmental damage. People voted with their dollars. The market responded, and now almost every product has some kind of environmental symbol or even a rating. All that is necessary for change to come to the insurance industry is for one neutral watchdog group to monitor this kind of behaviour and publish inhuman ratings for each company. It will then become a default resource for information while selecting an insurance company like the Energuide in Canada, which rates how energy efficient appliances are and greatly affects purchasing behaviour.>> ^cosmovitelli:

Even if every human being involved is horrified - it cannot be reasoned with, cannot be bargained with, and absolutely WILL NOT STOP.. At least not for a second longer than it needs to to minimise expenditure.
This is an equation - that's old granny smiths pension money running this place and who the fuck are you to say the letter of the law is insufficient regulation?? YOU'RE FIRED!

You're relying on the interest and attention of the public to outmanoeuvre the machine. Never seems to work in the long run.

Especially when your elected representatives are working for the other side.

Cop Threatens Execution After Concealed Weapon Found

messenger says...

Cops certainly are not all bad eggs, in the sense that they don't all abuse their power over civilians, but a distressing proportion are, and they are not kept in line by anyone, so they tacitly are given this power by their supervisors, and on up the chain. It obviously hasn't even occurred to this officer that there might be consequences for the way he's treating this suspect. Cops all protect one another, good and bad. Even the "Role model cop" would circle the wagons around this guy, who's clearly abusing his power. THAT's the problem.

If abusive cops were brought to justice the same way abusive non-cops are brought to justice, these videos would be insignificant, or just sad, or even funny, like watching stupid thieves getting caught in ventilation shafts. Until that time comes, we need more public awareness and action towards fair, repsectul policing.>> ^quantumushroom:

The bad eggs are out there, but that's all they are, bad eggs. This is not the norm.
I was most surprised they searched the car without permission. Unlike the clueless Taser tards, this poor guy has a good case for suing.

Also, is it really necessary to deny presenting identification just because you can? If the cop was being a dick at the outset, I might deny presenting I.D. too but this cop was obviously cool and obviously aware of what was really going on.
Entrapment works both ways and it's a good thing this cop was one step ahead of this fucking tool.
