Hands down, best. Mickey gets runner-up

Revolutionary Road - Michael Shannon
Brilliant performance in a meh film

Performance by a leading actress:
Doubt - Meryl Streep
She is awesome with a double helping of awesome sauce

Performance by a supporting actress:
Doubt - Viola Davis
fantastic performance, 2nd place Marisa, but I can't imagine she would want to win another supporting actress oscar, as the last one nearly killed her career

Animated Feature of the Year:
WALL-E
Duh!?

Best Picture:
Slumdog Millionaire
Best Picture out of the 5 nominations, I will agree with others that TDK should have be nominated and I would have thrown my vote at it.

Hugh Laurie Laughs at James Liptons Enlish Accent

my15minutes says...

actually, it's surprisingly bad.
and unsurprisingly, very theatrical.

lipton's actually very good at the 'nuts & bolts' of acting. like, learning your fuckin lines every day while working on a soap opera. the essentials. which is why he's a good acting teacher.

accents generally aren't all that essential (though most can do a better british accent than that, lipton! ). plenty of big-name stars who've gone through entire careers, scarcely ever changing their accent. and if they do, they'll just bring in a dialogue coach for that one flick.

and then there's the meryl streeps and the hugh lauries, that can do dozens, so well that locals couldn't tell.

Trigun (awesome anime)

Farhad2000 says...

Trigun is a sci-fi manga series with a steampunk Wild West theme created by Yasuhiro Nightow in 1995, and adapted into a 26 episode anime series in 1998 by Madhouse. It is the story of Vash the Stampede, a.k.a. The Humanoid Typhoon, and the two Bernardelli Insurance Society employees, Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson, who were ordered to follow him and minimize the damage that seems to follow Vash everywhere he goes.

Trigun was created by the animation studio Madhouse in 1998 and directed by Satoshi Nishimura. The October 2005 issue of Neo magazine (A UK Anime magazine) includes an interview with Studio Madhouse's founder, Masao Maruyama. In it he says the studio is working on a Trigun Movie that should be released in a "couple of years". The November issue of Anime Insider also confirms this news.

Still one of my favorite anime series.
