"Department of Peace" deservedly mocked

quantumushroom says...

"Freedom's Watch" is just another group of half-baked rightwing nutjobs who still see commies hiding under their beds at night.

Actually, the commies are all around, in plain sight. They call themselves democrats, liberals and greens.

Fk 'em. Right in the neck.

You need a session in the van, my man. ha ha ha ha!

Ari Fleischer is the front man for "Freedom's Watch," just another swiftboating type group meant to do the president's bidding.

Huffington Post

"Freedom's Watch" is just another group of half-baked rightwing nutjobs who still see commies hiding under their beds at night.

Freedom's Watch's first major advertising campaign emphasized the sacrifice of U.S. troops and their families in Iraq. As The New York Times wrote, "Several of the group's spots suggested that Iraq, rather than Al Qaeda, was behind the Sept. 11 attacks, even though the independent Sept. 11 commission investigation and other inquiries found no evidence of Iraq's involvement."

Typical rightwing liars.

You see, I have this theory that the internet is causing a general mediocritisation of human culture, because you can put pretty much any piece of work on the internet and no matter how hugely it sucks dolphin jizz you'll find some dick who's prepared to tell you it's brilliant. This is the principle on which Deviantart appears to be founded.

But the cruellest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't. It gives them no incentive to improve or try new things, which a creative person must always strive to do. And it tends to foster the kind of monstrous egos the webcomic sphere grows like mushrooms in the shit-spattered dark. Tim Buckley of Ctrl-Alt-Del is notorious for having a zero tolerance for any criticism, constructive or otherwise, often deleting it unregarded from his forums, or declaring them invalid for half-baked reasons. It seems blanket praise has already done its damage to this fevered ego.

Ben Stein edition of Why do people laugh at creationists?

Crosswords says...

Is there a creationist scientific claim that hasn't been blown out of the water? Or rather one that can actually be disproved. I know the common tactic is to say, oh gee the rate of radioactive decay used to be much faster hence why radiometric dating is wrong. Okay so it can't be disproven everything was in fast forward until 10 thousand years ago, but there's no basis for suspecting that's the case in the first place. I can submit that 400k years ago the sun was a giant heat and light radiating tomato, but its properties miraculously changed into that of one based off the nuclear fusion of hydrogen.

The biggest problem I have with teaching creationism in science class is that its a waste of time. Were it possible I wish there was enough time to explore every facet of creationism in a science class, to be able to pick it apart and have a lovely class room discussion about how it does or doesn't stand up to scientific scrutiny. But from my experience there isn't even enough time to glaze over scientific claims that have a mountain of supporting evidence. As a kid I'm not sure we ever actually got through our whole text book. Hell it seemed half the time was spent relearning what we supposedly didn't learn the previous year. Imagine how bad it would be if time were taken out to discuss every half baked scientific theory?

I suppose the creationists argue evolution (or Darwinism as they apparently like to call it) is a half baked theory. To that all I can say is the Majority of the scientific community seems to think its not, based on the evidence supporting it that has accrued since its inception.

This is another interesting article by the editor of a fire-fighter's magazine, Fire Engineering:

"Fire Engineering has good reason to believe that the "official investigation" blessed by FEMA and run by the American Society of Civil Engineers is a half-baked farce that may already have been commandeered by political forces whose primary interests, to put it mildly, lie far afield of full disclosure. Except for the marginal benefit obtained from a three-day, visual walk-through of evidence sites conducted by ASCE investigation committee members- described by one close source as a "tourist trip" - no one's checking the evidence for anything."

qm, lying to the country is illegal even if your strange assessment of the "success" of the invasion is correct.

The only mistake in taking out saddam was we didn't level iran first.

as for giving iran the "smackdown"... well, you can't fucking afford it.

A few dozen Raptors over Tehran and the shadow of one B-2 is all it would take, just like Israel kicked Syria's ass from the air(also underreported).

Oh and while you're at it could you please illustrate some of this "alternate history of the past eight years" you refer to?

1) Claims that Bush "stole" the election when in fact it was the taxocrats who tried to steal it
2) Bush "knew" about 9-11...or planned it (not worthy of any response deeper than "Koo-koo!")
3) After 12 years of sanctions and an entire world intelligence community agreeing saddam had wmds (which he did, since he used them) claiming that poor saddam was "illegally attacked".
4) Slick Willie "did everything in his power" to answer muslim terrorist attacks in the 90s.
5) Islam is a 'religion of peace' the government is picking on.
6) Non-stop doomsaying over how Iraqi thugs were going to defeat the world's finest armed forces.
7) Deliberate (what-liberal-media?) blackout of any positive news from Iraq
Sandbagging Gen. Petraeus.
9) Hillary supports the war unless the crowd she's bowing to opposes it.
10) Terrorists at Gitmo are being "held without trial" (even tho US law doesn't apply to them).
11) The Patriot act has led to rampant eavesdropping on regular joes and internment camps, etc.

Liberal alternate history: a negative, half-baked fairy tale focused only on greed, exploitation and cynicism, sold to neo-hippies by paleo-hippies, both who've never been hungry for more than a day and therefore have no understanding of what privation really is, resulting in no gratitude, no shame, no nothin' except hatred for Bush.

that "evasion" portion, where they showed the other interview, he's supposed to be good at it? any half bake should be able to see how he didnt just avoid the questions asked, he completely jumped ship on them. it was some of the worst question dodging ive seen in a while.

i really hope this gets put up on the 15. granted most of this community is smart enough to know he's a lying sack of crap already but the more widespread the better.

Is There a Doctor in the House? (Sift Talk Post)

choggie says...

wow....My grams and grandpa, both suffered hearing loss from a mycin-based vaccination in the 50's er 60's......as a result, I have gone from telling doctors that I have allergies to them, to simply not going to any doctors, for anything short of blood loss, or trauma leading to shock.....My trust in listening to my body, and knowing what I know to be true about myself from past daily blood work.....I am always asking reading and learning, and a good general rule of thumb is, don't worry, and don't put faith in a doctor, simply because of the phd, you have to find a good one, like you would a peach inna bushel-SOMEWHERE, someone has had what yuu are suffering with, and the last thing you want, is to pogo-stick around, to a buncha half-baked Franks, who want to try out their new battery of Phiser-samples, (pharmy-fest bastards, most), using your liver as a fucking volunteer, catch-all.......Doc_M's right, the fluids tell the story, at the very least, your liver is temporarily toxed, and needs a rest, regardless of the vertigo symptoms.....
