Penn&Teller Bullshit: Season 7 - Video Games

Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy - Language Of Violence

MrFisk says...

The first day of school was always the hardest
The first day of school the
hallways the darkest
Like a gauntlet
the voices haunted
Walking in
with his thin skin lowered chin
He knew the names that they would taunt him
with
Faggot sissy punk queen queer
Although he'd never had sex in his 15
years
And when they harassed him it was for a reason
And when they
provoked him it became open season
for the fox and the hunter, the sparks
and the thunder
that pushed the boy under, then pillage and plunder
It
kind of makes you wonder
how one can hurt another
But dehumanizing the
victim makes things simpler
It's like breathing with a respirator
It
eases the conscience of even the most conscious
and calculating
violator
Words can reduce a person to an object,
something more easy to
hate
An inanimate entity, completely disposable,
no problem to
obliterate

But death is the silence
in this language of
violence
Death is the silence
But death is the silence
in this cycle
of violence
death is the silence
It's tough to be young, the young long
to be tougher
When we pick on someone else it might make us feel
rougher
Abused by their fathers but was at home though
so to prove to
each other that they were not homos
The exclamation of the phobic
fury
executioner, a judge and jury
The mob mentality, individuality was
nowhere
Dignity forgotten at the bottom of a dumb old dare and a numb
cold
stare
On the way home it was back to name calling
Ten against one
they had his back up against the wall and
they reveled in their laughter as
they surrounded him
But it wasn't a game when they up jumped and grounded
him
They picked up their bats with their muscles straining
and they
decided they were gonna beat this fella's brain in
with an awful, powerful,
showerful, an hour full of violence
Inflict the strictest brutality and
dominance
They didn't hear him screaming, they didn't hear him
pleading
They ran like cowards and left the boy bleeding
in a pool of red
'til all tears were shed
and his eyes quietly slid into the back of his
head
dead...

You won't see the face 'til the eyelids
drop
You won't hear the screaming until it stops
The boy's parents were
gone and his grandmother had raised him
She was mad she had no form of
retaliation
The pack didn't have to worry about being on a hitlist
But
the thing they never thought about was that there was a witness
to this
senseless crime, right place wrong time
Tried as an adult one of them was
gonna do hard time
The first day of prison was always the hardest
The
first day of prison, the hallways the darkest
Like a gauntlet
the voices
haunted
Faggot, sissy, punk, queen, queer
Words he used before had a new
meaning in here
As a group of men in front of him came near
for the first
time in his life the young bully felt fear
He'd never been on this side of
the name calling
Five against one they had his back up against the wall
and
he had never questioned his own sexuality
but this group of men
didn't hesitate in their reality
with an awful, powerful, showerful, an hour
full of violence
Inflict the strictest brutality and dominance
They didn't
hear him screaming
They didn't hear him pleading
They took what they
wanted and then left him bleeding in the corner
The giant reduced to jack
horner
But dehumanizing the victim makes things simpler
It's like
breathing with a respirator
It eases the conscience of even the most
conscious
and calculating violator
The power of words, don't take it for
granted
when you hear a man ranting
Don't just read the lips, be more
sublime than this
Put everything in context, is this a tale of rough
justice
in a land where there's no justice at all ?
Who is really the
victim ? Or are we all the cause, and victim of it
all
?

You won't see the face 'til the eyelids drop
You
won't hear the screaming until it stops

Eyelid Cyst Surgery!

Title changed, and tags altered once more so that people might actually find the video.
^mauz15, I should have left the 'sebaceous cyst' tag I originally had on this. I hate it when I get blockages in the openings of the meibomian glands... especially if I'm wearing contacts. I had no idea they went that far into the eyelid. Thanks for pointing that out.
So, how deep in the skin does a build-up of sebum (or whatever) have to be for the problem to be a cyst, and not a pimple? (not talking specifically about meibomian glands here).

a cyst is different from a pimple in the sense that the cyst is more like a sac, whereas a pimple is like a blockage, a comedo (whitehead/blackhead), papules (red pimples) and pustules (like whiteheads but deeper) resulting from blockage of a hair follicle, oil glands, and other causes I don't know about. How deep? I don't know, probably a lesion is considered a cyst if it makes it to the second skin layer, which is the dermis.

edit: apparently if it is 5mm across, it is a cyst, but I got that from some regular website so it could be false.

So... what did it take for you to see it the first time? Was it a consequence of some kind of advanced drug-cocktail or a going-to-the-movies-date with a supermodel that made you do it?

In reply to this comment by kulpims:
the only way to make me watch Twilight one more time would be to staple my eyelids to my forehead while Chuck Norris and Steven Seagal hold my hands tight. that, or if at the end of the movie, they get all the cast members to perform a bukkake on miss Stewart

Belle and Sebastian -- The Model (live)

I will confess to you
Because you made me think about the times
You turn the picture on to me and I'll turn over
The vision was a masterpiece of comic timing
But you wouldn't laugh at all
And I wonder what the boy was thinking
The picture was an old collage of something classical
The model with a tragic air
Because without a doubt he'd given up the fight
The ghost of somebody at his side
I will confess to you
Because I didn't think about the message
As I walked down the alleyway it was a Sunday
And all my friends deserted me because you painted me
As the fraud I really was
And if you think you see with just your eyes you're mad
'Cause Lisa learned a lot from putting on a blindfold
When she knew she had been bad
She met another blind kid at a fancy dress
It was the best sex she ever had
I'll send a dress to you
Because it's needing badly taken in
But I was so embarressed when I missed your party
It was me that paid for it eventually
Because you know how much I wanted
To meet your friend the star of stage and local press
The dream of all the bowlie boys that hang around here
And I'm no different from the rest
I'm not too proud to say that I'm okay with
The girl next door who's famous for showing her breasts
You're not impressed by me
But it's a funny way for you to tell me
A whisper in a choir stall
The man was talking about you simultaneously
Frankly, I let my heavy eyelids flutter
Because I have been sleeping badly lately
I know you were historical from all the books I've read
But I thought you could be bluffing
And with this chance I've missed I feel remiss
It's days and months before I see you again

ROAST X: ITS XTREME!!!! (Parody Talk Post)

Who is Rasch? well, I have looked into a few things (I'm going to check more on his videos later...) and here is what I had found out...

1) He looks more destracting that Johnny Depp's Willy Wonka... At least you know when you look at Johnny Depp, you know he is just off, but Rasch looks like he is going to do something rather unpleasant...

2) Rasch doesn't seem to have his words properly placed, or just very stoned... Seriously,

"Someone smoked my eyelids and punched my cigarette."

I'm guessing that having someone punching your cigarette is less painful than smoking someone's eyelid... otherwise, this could explain why he wears wonka sized sunglasses...

3) He is the owner of the Rock & Roll channel, but is that really saying anything? Just look at the History of rock&roll votes...

1. kronosposeidon (3049 votes) 2. Zifnab (2874 votes) 3. mlx (2444 votes) 4. silvercord (2298 votes) 5. Issykitty (2120 votes) 6. Issykitty (1962 votes) 7. dystopianfuturetoday (1727 votes) 8. gorgonheap (1676 votes) 9. JAPR (1285 votes) 10. choggie (1247 votes) 11. swampgirl (1124 votes) 12. lurgee (1090 votes) 13. calvados (991 votes) 14. winkler1 (840 votes) 15. snoozedoctor (733 votes)

The owner isn't even on the top 15! Even Choggie is beating this guy and Choggie is no longer with us... Can you really be proud of being an owner of something you don't have much control over!?!

Palin Pardons a Turkey -- While others are killed behind her

The uncensored original clip is also on the sift:

I love this description (on a page which also hosts the uncensored original):

http://thesuperficial.com/2008/11/sarah_palin_answers_you_betcha.php

"Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has answered a resounding "You betcha" to the question "Can she be anymore oblivious?" After pardoning a turkey for Thanksgiving, Governor Palin gave a surreal interview with a local news team yesterday - right in front of a dude slaughtering turkeys. Amazing. My favorite part is the look on the guy's face as he realizes "Wow, you're really going to do this." Then gets back to work because it's Alaska, and it's fucking cold out.

In the meantime, someone needs to tell Sarah Palin's the elections over, so she can stop reciting the words John McCain wrote on the inside of her eyelids ad nauseum. Jesus, lady. I don't see how Todd Palin doesn't spend the majority of his day purposely getting rammed in the ear by snowmobiles. Unless he's somehow immune to shrill."

Countdown: Palin's Anti-Science Mindlessness

13496 says...

From the comments I have read about my previous posting, I feel I need to clarify a few points.

First, I am not advocating that we "give up" on science even though it is probably far too late to salvage my career. From my perspective, however, Congress has been riddled with anti-science politicians for decades. They have weakened the general health of scientific research in this country and cost thousands of scientists their careers, including myself -- and nobody bats an eyelid. Now, a vice-presidential candidate dares to make an utterance that is viewed by some as "anti-science", and there is practically a lynch mob after her. The flip-flop from one extreme to the other has me most baffled. I would sure welcome a posting from someone who could clear up this mystery for me.

Second, I am very much concerned that the attacks I read against Sarah Palin will harm, not help the situation with science in this country. These attacks have gone far beyond criticism of her stand on science issues and have gotten personal. Oftentimes, derogatory language and descriptions are used. There is no place for such abuse in either science, politics, or religion. It will only give us an image of being extreme and unprofessional, which we cannot afford.

Finally, if your definition of science includes an unquestioning acceptance of evolution and global warming, be informed that there are many scientists who would differ with you. Although these theories are generally presented as sacred truth, they are far from being universally accepted in the scientific community. Personally, I have yet to find an evolutionist who can satisfactorily explain the process by which highly complex, self-replicating DNA molecules arise from the "hot thin soup". Nor has it ever been demonstrated in the laboratory. It seems that when faced with the choice between life by intelligent design and life by freak occurrence, they choose the latter. Now who is being unscientific?

The Human Eye - 10 Things You Didn't Know

mauz15 says...

>> ^lucky760:
I'm calling bullshit. Where did he get these "facts?"
I was buying into it until he said "it's impossible to sneeze with your eyes open" because Adam Savage busted that myth on Mythbusters (and his eyes didn't pop out).
My guess is just a bunch of interesting sounding stuff he's heard crammed into a metacafe video to make money.

Yes and no. Many things occur when you sneeze, a lot of face muscles come into play AND there is a reflex that will close your eyelids the moment you sneeze. Called the sternutatory reflex. A lot of pressure takes place the moment you sneeze, enough to make your eyes uncomfortable so as a reflex, they close. Because imagine what a bunch of pressurized oxygen will do to the eyes which are thin layers of tissue filled with fluid if we kept them open for every sneeze we had. My guess is if this were the case they would eventually deform or fall out of place.

The error here is to say 'impossible' it is possible to fight reflexes.

But here is the thing, we are talking about a reflex, meaning that yes, mythbusters proved we can fight the reflex but the very act of mythbusters trying to prove this affects the outcome, for Adam WAS EXPECTING a sneeze. When it becomes 'impossible' is those times where the sneeze occurs suddenly. I am pretty sure there are times where you know a sneeze is coming and others where it gets you and you were not expecting it.

As for the other facts, well those are generalized averages, etc. I found most of them acceptable enough. (for an internet video)
But then again these are the sort of facts that are half informative, half 'meh'
kind of like a cow can go up the stairs but not down
