Oops. “I can fake being smart” Habba forgot to appeal the loss of his presidential immunity in civil cases by Feb 15. When asked about “Blasingame” she didn’t know what it was (it’s the case that stripped her client, Trump, of immunity in December!).
If he doesn’t have civil immunity, he definitely doesn’t have criminal immunity.
There is no appealing missing the deadline. He just lost any case for his immunity, onward to trials!
https://nypost.com/2024/02/19/us-news/trump-open-to-jan-6-suits-after-missing-scotus-appeal-deadline/#
This means the civil suits about Jan 6 by representatives and police can proceed too.
Thanks Habba. Worst attorney in America! Congratulations on being #1!
Oh no! One of the main pieces of evidence used by the special prosecutor to prove Hunter was on drugs when he bought a gun, claimed to be a photo of cocaine Hunter sent to his doctor but was in fact a photo of sawdust put in lines by a carpenter who used work to overcome addiction, with text suggesting Hunter might as well. One more time the special prosecutor is caught misrepresenting evidence to impugn Hunter. There are many. He’s going to own them when he sues for misconduct. Another MAGA witch hunt falls apart with no witches, just little girls accusing their rivals. 😂
Hollywood Burns- Skylords
like carpenter brut but significantly worse.
New Zealand PSA - Trade School
I wish we had this in the US:
1. At 18, you go into two years of national service, PERIOD. Unless you're in a coma, you're going. And you're going to go someplace you're not from and be on a team with people you're not used to so that your millimeter-wide view of America gets forced open to a mile.
You will be evaluated for mental and physical wellness. If you're suffering from mental illness, you will get help. If you're struggling with weight or other physical issues, you will get help.
You will be helping out in communities that you are not used to seeing: rural, inner-city, black, white, Latino. You will meet gay people, hard-core religious people, prisoners, entrepreneurs, carpenters and mechanics. You will get to know their world and help them understand yours.
2. After your two years, you have some choices:
- You can go into the military and strengthen those skills you've shown an aptitude for.
- If you want, you can attend a trade school, fully covered.
- If you want to go to college, your first two years will be covered if you get a AA/AS. Should you go for a four-year degree, your first three years will be covered.
Imagine what kind of nation we'd be living in right now has this been done in 1990.

What song makes a girl smile?
I got most of these; If you're playing along at home:
Attempt 1: Clair de Lune (Claude Debussy)
Attempt 2: ??
Attempt 3: Moonlight Sonata 3rd Movement (Beethoven)
Attempt 4: Harry Potter theme (John Williams)
Attempt 5: Pokemon theme (John Siegler)
Attempt 6: Flight of the Bumblebee (Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov)
Attempt 7: ??
Attempt 8: Russian National Anthem (Alexander Alexandrov)
Attempt 9: Get Along Gang theme (don't know who wrote this)
Attempt 10: Blue (Eiffel 65)
Attempt 11: Thomas the Tank Engine theme (Mike O'Donnell/Junior Campbell)
Attempt 12: Funeral March (Chopin) I'd be surprised/alarmed if she smiled at this (!)
Attempt 13: Jaws theme (Williams)
Attempt 14: Halloween theme (John Carpenter) this too (!)
And the winner..well, you know, a chick song from a chick movie, no wonder she smiles...
Fireman Rescues Dog Trapped in Freezing Lake Water
If a carpenter is building a house and a nails bends does that mean all nails are bad?
Give us back our 20%.
Quit.
Humans ARE animals.....disgusting, self centered, egotistical, destructive animals.
Your statement just lowered my respect for firefighters by >20%
Kinetic Spinning Ring Box
It's a pretty poor carpenter who blames his tools.
What if you don't have all the cool tools?
Creatonotos gangis
There's a sequel to Carpenter's The Thing!?!
Overwatch - Mei Animated Short
See if you can spot the homage to John Carpenter's The Thing.
WoodSwimmer
The art lover in me appreciates the beauty.
The carpenter in me shakes his head, sadly, at the waste.
What If The Moon Exploded?
this seems spectacularly hyperbolic if not completely wrong. nice of them to lift a carpenter brut video too.
where are all the big H.P lovecraft films?
Doesn't Netflix have Dagon and Necronomicron: Book of the Dead? I looove John Carpenter's Apocalypse Trilogy and The Mist RULES! Frank Darabont has also made many a Stephen King flick (Shawshank especially).
Off the top of my head, I would say HP Lovecraft isn't simply about madness driving horrors, it's biological horror, rather than supernatural. So almost anything by David Cronenberg, a lot of Japanese and Korean film, such as Akira, Uzemaki, The Ring movies, (which is based upon a Japanese folklore, but in modern times became biological horror, the Ring is actually a hybrid biological, technological virus), etc.
Also, the Matthew McCant-spell-his-last-name's True Detective breeches the Lovecraftian realm on a subtle and then not so subtle way in the end, such as the concept of "black stars" in a constant daytime of white background. I would say it's pre-Lovecraftian mythos from authors in the 1800s writing nihilistic almost biological horror, more just heavy uncomfortable writing. I can't recall the primary author who inspired Lovecraft beyond Bram Stoker's The Lair of the White Worm.
Anyway. I love horror, thrillers, suspense, nihilism, pulp and gothic literature.
