Clearly you cannot read. The article is clear. The objective of the bipartisan group was not to win votes for either side, only to ensure a free and fair election in the face of the Trump administration's efforts to interfere and illegally sway results through lies, lawsuits, disinformation, voter suppression, and simple denial of reality and fact.

"There was a conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes, one that both curtailed the protests and coordinated the resistance from CEOs. Both surprises were the result of an informal alliance between left-wing activists and business titans. The pact was formalized in a terse, little-noticed joint statement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and AFL-CIO published on Election Day. Both sides would come to see it as a sort of implicit bargain–inspired by the summer’s massive, sometimes destructive racial-justice protests–in which the forces of labor came together with the forces of capital to keep the peace and oppose Trump’s assault on democracy.

The handshake between business and labor was just one component of a vast, cross-partisan campaign to protect the election–an extraordinary shadow effort dedicated not to winning the vote but to ensuring it would be free and fair, credible and uncorrupted. "

You are both dumb to try this lie, and a bold faced liar. You actually pointed us to your source that clearly says the exact opposite of what you claim. I'm pretty certain you didn't read it, because it's clear, and it calls you a liar too.

The left subverted the election and admitted it in the article.

They colluded with the media, big tech, local and state governments with the sole purpose to sway voters and block opposition on a national scale.

I can read but can you take you blinders off?

Fair enough. The title wasn't meant to be literal (you can see the tags and description are correct) but more of a tongue-in-cheek "difference between contact sports vs. non-contact sports." Plus I figured no one outside of Australia had heard of AFL (didn't see that other recent Sift).

1. Rename this to "The Vocal Powerhouse That WAS Meat Loaf"
2. After watching this and the AFL Grand Final 2011, my expert amateur opinion is that he's losing his hearing.
He definitely has the range and the voice, but it's hitting the wrong notes, and he's not gauging it right. It's not like he's Axl Rose who's lost his raspiness, Axl is hitting the right notes (albeit like a schoolboy falsetto).
Not entirely unlikely for Meat Loaf; his age makes him likely to lose his hearing. Add to that being a musician surrounded by loud music: very likely. He's putting in the energy, but doesn't have that feedback loop that those belted out vocals are missing the mark. He may as well be covering his ears and screaming. Which is kind of what it sounds like.
My two cents.

I suppose it could be...but it hurts to see one of the best voices of our (my, anyway) lifetimes lose it. How long ago was Bat Out of Hell 3 recorded...because he was nothing short of perfect for that one. That's a lot of damage to show up in 6 short years.

I have never watched Aussie rules football. I don't even know if there ARE hits.

These are the best "catches" of the year, hence the reason you only see "catches."

Say "catch" around an Aussie, and they will correct you to "mark."

The things I learn on the Sift....

One day I was just laying about and I saw on ESPN3 this thing called AFL. I had no idea what it was so I clicked on it to check it out. Mind...Fucking...Blown. I've been watching AFL for over a year now and I still don't have any idea what's going on. The refs blow the whistle constantly, as a soccer ref I keep wondering "Why isn't anyone stopping!?" I watch every game they put on ESPN3...sometimes twice. I ended up watching one Final twice but that was because they played it twice because they'res no such thing as a tie breaker...that was insane to me.

They can consider me an lifelong fan because I'll never get tired of watching this FUCKING Insane game. It's absolutely amazing.

AFL isn't soccer, it isn't rugby, it's... well it's its own thing. There is also Gaelic Football which is close enough that they have international games between Irish teams and Aussie teams in a hybrid of the two sports sometimes.

AFL is probably closer to soccer than rugby though, in that you have goals at each end which each team is trying to kick the ball into. The big difference between soccer and football though, besides being able to use your hands, is that AFL is a MUCH higher scoring game. Soccer just annoys and frustrates me (and most supporters it would seem based on the number of riots) because there's almost no scoring... All that pent up energy with bugger all release. AFL has scoring all the time, so you have constant ups and downs during the game.
