"stop-motion" means the subject is being manipulated so that successive still images create the illusion of motion. it's a form of animation.
many stop-motion animations use clay models or other still life objects, but some of them use people.
Nice design. Animated life-sized cardboard animals occupying public spaces, all in-camera. It must have been so much fun to shoot this. The recent thesis work of student animator Sjors Vervoort, Netherlands.
