That's kind of bullshit, Kubric.

If the police aren't there to protect, or maintain the peace, what the fuck are they there for?

I know badges, most are good guys, some are good guys but not very bright, some are good guys and very bright, most, I think, have an authority thing and love to be in the shit, so to speak.

Protection of the general public is the sole reason to have a police force.

Wrong. Every supreme court ruling on this matter has shown that government has no obligation to protect the citizens.

Secondly, the criminal justice system was NOT implemented to protect citizens from criminals, but to protect the criminal from the citizens (mob justice, etc).

Well, I'd actually like the criminal justice system if it remained solely a mechanism to protect criminals from mob justice. That's a good system. But when we ask for the system to protect us (that is we give up our liberties for safety), we get a police state at home and a military war machine abroad.

Not really, Blankie. You just said that the police have no obligation to protect us, and we have both a police state and a military war machine abroad.

It's less about the system than it is the people at the top of the system. That's the real enemy.

"To Serve & Protect" used to mean something to me, but then I'm a bleeding heart leftist who actually gives a shit about people, not things.

Born in the wrong country.
