How many of the victim's families care for rehabilitation? How many criminals put effort to rehabilitate more than just concerned to survive in there for another day?

So there's always a mix of both though in "Correctional Services". Different countries have different mixture of punishment v. habilitation. Guess how much the USA care for rehabilitation v punishment. Which is more profitable? It's madness, but the benefactors running the system loves locking people up.

Personally I'm for aborting it, but the Death Penalty might be what the murderer wants, then is it just publishment? That's granting the ultimate wish of the murderer. But if the majority of the victims' families, understandably, wants the closure of the death Penalty, too. Why the need to be 100% unanimous among every jury? So it's always a gray area.

But locking him up for life makes good business for the Correctional Industrial Complex though. Cheap labor! The only absolute loser is the taxpayers.

It's all about messaging isn't it? When all other countries considers tax as a means to take care of its people, American right-wing politics call it Socialism, Communism, Facism and whatever else they want to call it (but hush hush on its own Socialism for its banks, for-profit prisons, the MIC & other Big Tech, Big Pharma, etc.). True, any government-run programs have a certain waste. But letting Big Corps profiteering run rampant instread proves, time-and-again, that doesn't improve the quality of living for the vast majority of the population a single bit.

It was a mock American SAT exam (although I'm a Canadian, and I took the test in a Canadian boarding school right at a border town on Quebec/Maine named Stanstead College). My beef wasn't really with the teacher originally, I just thought the SAT was weird to have such a math question, so I justed wanted to point out there are 2 right answers, and 1 interesting philosophical argument to be had depending of how you look at d)... about how the question/answers were flawed. But with her answer, I couldn't but sneer and thought she was just clueless (instead of both of us had a laugh at the Q... while sipping tea? Stanstead College had a very British tradition).

As she was not the dunce who drafted that stupid question, I was not going to fight her for an inconsequential demerit (on my part or SAT?), nor find it worthwhile to pursuit the higher-ups for a correction.

Haha, I KNEW you're gonna say that. I replied it that way because it reminds me on an argument I had with a math teacher way back when which I want to tell.

It's was a math question but the answer is in multiple choice. The (simplified) question was like: What's 10-11? (I remember the exact answer is -1) but the choices were:

a) 21
b) < 10 c) < 0 d) none of the above

I chose b) because you can't lose against c) & d) right? WRONG! According to the math teacher, c) is the right answer because "c) is closer to -1"... I was in no mood to even argue with her on the conundrum of including d) in the choices by her logic, so I just sneered and slowly moonwalked away...

Under 20? Oh I so love an optimist.

My guess is more like 3 out of 5 couldn't get most of the Qs right.

Whether oil is finite or otherwise is kind of moot when we're talking about its impact on the economic & environment at large. With the advancement of renewable, clean energy techonology and ever cheaper cost of manufacturing & generation -- without even mentioning the political shift it would bring by reducing the power & authoritarian tendencies of the OPEC countires -- it's just plain Good Business to transition as fast as possible away from oil.

Countries like Israel, due to its geolocation/geopolitical climate, it's a desalination powerhouse. California can do the same. But a balanced approach (environmental harm vs. human necessity vs. commercial viability) is hard to achieve:
