Interesting. I shower regularly, but I do not use soap or shampoo. I use good hot water and a wash cloth. I do an oil wash fairly often as well to catch dead skin and bacteria while not removing my healthy microbiome that keeps my skin healthy and without bo.

It was rough at first, my skin and hair were oily and I definitely developed a scent lol, but with time, and working toward restoring my skins microbiome after years of antimicrobial soaps & shampoos, my skin & hair found a natural - and healthy - balance.

Yes it's a classic way to clean wounds and ForgedReality is right, it's perfectly fine so long as you don't leave it on the wound. I grew up having my scrapes and cuts cleaned with hydrogen peroxide then with good clean water seconds later before a bandage, as have millions of us.

Good food isn't necessarily just rabbit food. Organic food for example, tastes wonderful. Yes it's expensive to buy pre-packated organic foods in the grocery store but joining a local co-op or community of organic farmers in your area can save a lot of money.

Cook with raw ingredients, significantly cut prepackaged or fast food/restaurant meals. A lot of things considered unhealthy just a few years ago are being revealed to be very good for you, like butter, whole milk (especially unpasteurized). Meats are fine in moderation, even red meat is really good for you if you reduce over-all consumption of it.

Healthy food can be absolutely delicious, it just takes a bit of prep time and some cooking skill. Eating healthy doesn't mean 24/7 salad with a side of salad.

If I were a smoker I'd definitely make my own because the industry has so little regulation, you have no real way to know what chemicals you are getting that may cause even more harm than a cigarette. As an example some brands have been shown to release more formaldehyde and other dangerous carcinogens at significantly higher rates than a regular cigarette.

E-cigs can definitely be used to help quit, but the opposite is also true. I see more teens than ever smoking e-cigs who wouldn't have otherwise smoked cigarettes because they don't ruin your teeth, your sense of taste, your breath, you don't have the smell of cigarettes on you. Those are teens that wouldn't have been addicted to smoking otherwise and now are, even if that addiction is less severe.

As an example, my step-nephew (18) for example and his father both use e-cigs and have for the last year or two as they've gained popularity. His father has since quit after much reduced smoking but the nephew goes through multiple flavored bottles a week. He never puts his down.

It's astounding the number of people I know who are normal, rational even scientifically minded folks who are against vaccinations these days. The last person I talked about the subject with said their friend's kid is sick all the time and how her parents think it's because of vaccinations the child had around the start of the school year.

One of the myriad reasons I eat primarily locally farmed organic produce. Well that and the food tastes way better. I actually barely spend more money than I would going to say Walmart for my food. Only I pay in larger chunks and get so much of it my SO cans and freezes about half of it for use over winter.

I know exactly what he means and have the same thought.. unconditional love for all after having a spiritual 'awakening'. Mine however wasn't born of psychodelic use but rather spiritual pursuits such as meditation during the most stressful time of my life. It was like my mind broke and a new me was born. It utterly changed how I think and feel. If I were religious at the time I'm sure I would have taken it as a sign some god had chosen me and for this reason I don't consider people who 'find god' or are 'born again' to be bat-shit crazy. They've simply had a similar experience.

I never understood exactly what happened to me physiologically to cause such a radical shift in the way I think and feel so I'm glad science is researching this phenomenon. That 'event' happened 20+ years ago but it still affects me every day.
