You are too kind, Chicchorea. I quite enjoy reading your prose, by the way. (and yes, I am a bit of a night owl at times, sorry I missed your post!)

It is my pleasure to be able and obligated to thank you. You cleared my queue thank you very much.

BTW, I humbly and respectfully submit that your Bronze and the subsequent stars forthcoming would have and will happen owing to your unique gift of Sift. Thank you for the accolade at any rate.

Ah...a quiet Halloween for thee. Sometimes quiet is a mighty fine thing to enjoy. I had a groovy Halloween myself, thank you for asking! And as always, thank you so much for the upvotes!

In reply to this comment by chicchorea:
Awwwww shucks...my pleasure. You make it easy.

Hell was rather quiet around here. Did you kick up some fire though?

In reply to this comment by AdrianBlack:
Awwww! You always leave the best little messages to find. I hope you had a Hell-raising Halloween!

King in interviews and in the book itself said the story was inspired by Arthur Machen’s The Great God Pan stating: "Not Lovecraft; it’s a riff on Arthur Machen’s “The Great God Pan,” which is one of the best horror stories ever written. Maybe the best in the English language. Mine isn’t anywhere near that good, but I loved the chance to put neurotic behavior—obsessive/compulsive disorder—together with the idea of a monster-filled macroverse." So, if anything, "Patterns" ripped off Machen.

In reply to this comment by NaMeCaF:
Wow, I really thought Stephen King was original, but this is a blatant rip off of an episode of Night Visions from 2002 called "Patterns".

I wish I could downvote.
