Lame and Horrible Video Game Endings - third edition

Shaolin Trailer - Kung Fu at its finest.

steroidg says...

Blind me! Sorry to be a bit of a snob, but what a garbage of a trailer? From what I can see, it's more like a Michael Bay movie with Chinese gravity. Ya it was fun when Crouching tiger hidden dragon came out, but it has gotten really old.

The quality of movies exported from China just get worse and worse! What the hell happened to the absolute gems that Zhang Yi Mou used to make which got banned in China? What about the emotional roller coasters of Chen Kai Ge? The best movies of his I watched in recent years is "Forever Enthralled", even that was nothing more than a rehash of "Farewell my concubine".

*sign* Jiang Wen is the only director keeping my hope up, I just hope his next movie is better than "Let bullets fly".

I concur with you assessments of the movies I mentioned and welcome your recommendations with great anticipation. In fact, I intend to search out copies this weekend. Thank you again.

I am unfamiliar with the two films mentioned and look forward to seeing then. He has done some of the most beautiful films. Curse of the Golden Flower and House of Flying Daggers are stunning.

If you were looking for things similar to "Curse of the Golden Flower" in the 3 movies I named, then you'll probably be disappointed as they are very different. To me, Zhang Yi Mou is much better at depicting characters than big fighting scenes (though I think his direction of the Beijing Olympic opening was awesome).
"House of the flying dagger" and "Curse of the golden flower" were just too superficial for my taste. Sure they have pretty pictures and actors, but they lack the essence of humanity that's present in his other movies.
Another one of my favorite movies of his: "No one less" is terribly slow and uneventful from the first glance, but at a certain moment in the movie, the viewer couldn't help but to feel the raw emotional connection with one of the main characters, and I literally couldn't hold back my tears. It's the only moment in the movie that makes you feel that way, and it only last a few seconds... but it's all worthy.

I was to write this when Zhang's name came up. As for tags, I chose what I thought would be most familiar.

I am unfamiliar with the two films mentioned and look forward to seeing then. He has done some of the most beautiful films. Curse of the Golden Flower and House of Flying Daggers are stunning.

In deference, the director's name is added. Thank you for the input.

I find it funny that there's no one mention of Zhang Yi Mou in the tags of this video, him being the director and all . I guess being in Australia, we didn't need Tarantino's support to get a release.

It's good, but hardly the best of Zhang's movies. I find "To live", "Red Sorghum" and "Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles" to be his best works.

First, let me say that I'm sick and tired of the crowd that says, "since I can't do it, it must be fake." So I'm going to take this time to give you all a reason to shut the hell up.

Now that we have that out of the way, let's get some information in here to stop all the speculation. The instrument in question is more than capable of producing the sounds you hear. It is called a Yamaha Electone STAGEA ELS-01X electronic organ. The STAGEA features over 180 digital effects with the ability to add in rhythm and accompaniment.

If you want to hear what it is capable of in the hands of a virtuoso, check out Qi Zhang's performance at TED. I'm pretty sure they can't get away with any camera trickery there.

I don't see how some of you can state that it is fake. When all you are looking at is a youtube video. You are actually going to say it's fake because you see some artifacts from a youtube video.. I seriously doubt your judgment.

It can be done:
http://www.videosift.com/video/Incredible-One-Woman-Orchestra-Qi-Zhang

This woman is performing in front of TED conference... you going to call that one a fake as well?

Why not just enjoy someones incredible talent instead of making stupid comments? Someone obviously spent tremendous about of time to do this. Yet couple Internet experts are going to call this person a fake.

Seriously some of you people need to get a life.

Incredible One Woman Orchestra - Qi Zhang

>> ^braindonut:
seems like it is just automating through preset samples - I fail to see how this is unique from any talented keyboardist performance, tbh. I wouldn't really call it a one person orchesta... Or maybe I'm missing something.

So what makes a Pianist great? At the end they're all just playing the same notes from memory, over and over again, aren't they?

This woman took a pretty unique instrument and programmed it herself to create every aspect of this performance. The timing, the precision and the sheer amount of practice it must have taken to get this perfectly right are pretty incredible.

What makes this a one-person orchestra? Try taking an audio recording of this performance, play it to someone who hasn't heard it before and then ask them how many people are playing. One won't be an answer anyone not familiar with this would give.

Megan Fox, as filmed by me one morning last week

Xaielao says...

I absolutely do Abel, I'm quite sick of every single model and all the 'hottest' actress' looking pretty much the same anymore. It's why I personally think some of the most beautiful famous women don't meet those standards. Women like Laura Prepon, Kristen Kreuk, Kirsten Dunst, Liv Tyler, Cate Blanchett (who was the biggest reason to watch Benjamin Button lol. She was stunningly beautiful in that movie.) Not to mention some of the extraordinarily beautiful asian actresses around the world, like Ziyi Zhang.

None of these women meet that exact 'super hotty' look of long, lanky, skinny with the same thin little face and sparkling eyes. But to me they are some of the most beautiful women in hollywood.

Don't get me wrong, Megan Fox is gorgeous and wonderful to look at, but she is simply more of the same exact look that every white early 20's model looks like these days. That same air-brushed look.
