I appreciate a flashmob orchestra as much as the next guy, but for those people bashing the US for not having a "commitment to the arts", let's not forget that the US entertainment industry is probably way bigger and more productive in terms of culture and profit than most european countries combined.

Maybe orchestras in the US are not playing in the streets, but they're playing original compositions (as opposed to some beautiful but still old and pretty worn-out Beethoven song) for multimillion dollar blockbuster movies, where millions of people can enjoy them in theaters and homes all around the world.

Unlike many european countries, the US, unfortunately, doesn't have anything like a "Department of Arts and Culture" to waste billions of dollars promoting folkloric dances and archaic art forms that can't survive on their own entertainment value.

Schools need to be focused on JUST education, that would shrink their budgets when they don't have to provide stadiums, fields, coaches, equipment, operations after hours for sports, etc.

It's nuts how much money they just throw away on installing all of this stuff that has to be maintained while they have horrible laboratories, no money to do anything remotely interesting in their science classes when it would engage students who don't pick up from books as easy as others, worn out books, and poor technology offerings that are either outdated or completely out of place with no purpose served via software or access to information or whatever (IE, what they provide doesn't contribute to the education to any student, it's just screw off stuff because it's worthless for some reason: lack of software, problems, or just too slow to use effectively).

Make their communities pay for sports fields, etc, and keep it separate from the school budget.

Music, drama, and gym are possibilities for offerings for schools, but schools shouldn't be rivaling colleges for their facilities with olympic pools, and what not for their sports programs. It's too much budget burden to upkeep that crap, and very few people get to actually benefit from it when it's "for the kids"...definitely not enough to justify the outrageous cost they carry and then having ANOTHER or "private" offering for the adults who foot the bill for all that shit.


If they never consider STOP building all these sports related things, they haven't actually looked at their program. Education is their bread and butter.


Local school just tore down a gym, 2 story building and eliminated all it's fields. Built a brand new school with all that crap around it. And then remodeled a new school and basically tore down 75% of it. And they want another budget passed for upkeep costs....when only with the NEWEST budget did they actually improve the place the students spend nearly all of their day. Prior to that they built a gym that was largest in the state for high schools for awhile, a football field, etc. I actually went to this school and I haven't seen the inside of the new places, but it was a shit hole in terms of books, computers, etc... they air conditioned the fucking gym they built and we spent the day melting otherwise.

I have to wonder what in the hell these people think, I know the general public is not very happy with needing new budget increases to pay for stuff they keep pissing away money on instead of teaching their kids.

I also use the standard Proraso green- it's loaded with Menthol and Eucalyptus so is really cooling on the skin- in the summer on a hot day if you use that stuff and cool water it feels like you're shaving with ice. There are some expensive luxury soaps and creams available and they are absolutely fantastic- An ex once gave me a cake of Geo F. Trumpers Limes, and I cherished that stuff for years- used it only on special occasions. You can also buy the old-standard "Mug" brand shaving soap for about one or two dollars at most drug stores- it works pretty good as well but is a little drying to the face- I keep a bar around and take it camping and backpacking.
The handle I use is a classic vintage "Improved" Gillette 3-piece screw-together safety razor dating from the 1930s, which makes it nearly 80 years old! How's that for economical? New handles are also available at specialty stores and online. The Merkur brand handles are particularly nice- I have one of those even though I still prefer the vintage Gillette. The old Gillette is also gold plated which does nothing to make the shave better but it looks cool.
As for blades, about three or four years ago I bought 400 Derby brand safety blades on Ebay for $50! I use fewer than 2 blades/week which means I've got a lot left, more than a hundred. I've also given away many packages to friends who wanted to try wet-shaving and none of them have gone back to their old (new?) ways.
Two passes gives me a clean and super-close shave, no nicks, no ingrown hairs, no burning, no bumps. Skin feels fantastic and I do very well with the ladies. Speaking of the ladies, most every woman I've been with has been very curious about the whole thing- the morning ritual with the brush, the special soaps etc. Some have even asked if they could try- which can lead to a lot of fun! Think that'll ever come about with your cheap spray-can of nasty foam or gel?

Here's my problem with Obama and don't get me wrong I voted for the guy. But everytime he say "I'm gonna change this "Insert Policy Here"" he makes a great case for it and then someone on his staff or the Speaker or Joint Chiefs tell him "No you can't do that because it will piss off "Insert party here"". He folds without any fight whatsoever.
Example:
He pulled what I thought was a daring and awesome move by planning a Presidential speech the night of the first GOP debate. Effective pulling away potential competition for upcoming votes against him. Then the Speaker of the House got pissed and whined about it to him to change the date. And he did. No argument, nothing he just folded up like an worn out lawnchair for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I mean give me a break how can you pretend to make bold moves like and not follow through with it. Your the freakin President it's your decision not the Speaker's who isn't even in your Party. WTF man grow a pair already. I'm tired of president who won't their guns and not let partisan politics dictate what they can and can't do for the better of the nation.
Partisan politics in the U.S. are slowly killing this nation we need someone who won't be influenced by that and will make decisions based on what's right for the country not what's right for the party who voted them in.

No one candidate is perfect period but in my opinion he's better by far than a complete Religious crackpot like Santorum or a Romney who's only goal is to reverse everything his predecessor has accomplished. Or worse still a Gingrich who thinks the corporations should run this country for us.

They tend to lose much of their range and vocal precision/endurance. there are exceptions though, Sting still sings quite well, as well as Bruce Dickinson, but I don't think either of them ever smoked for example (which I'm sure is probably the #1 reason why a lot of singers lose their voice)

Genesis was one of those bands that made an impression on music as a whole.
Peter Gabriel had/has such a unique voice, and a great stage presence. Rutherford and Banks were amazing as well. The fact that they could reproduce their music so well live, shows their talent. Maybe I'm wrong, but i always viewed Phil Collins as a Yoko Ono element.
I first bought this album in 1973 and have worn out a few copies. I still get goosebumps when i listen to early Genesis.
