The only reason I made the comment about his sexuality- was because his barrage of comments were of the crudest disgusting nature, accusing Jonny of abuse, rape and other dispicable acts.

Still, I regret mentioning it. It was a mistake made in the heat of the moment.

At the risk of opening the floodgates to future script kiddies- I should fill you in on the situation - because he was behind a proxy and generating new accounts by the second- we had no way of shutting him down. The comment section was filled with page after page of the vilest accusations and garbaage and it was continuing to fill.

I was playing whack-a-mole for three hours trying to shut down accounts and delete comments, but unfortunately he was quicker. I suspect he was using script automation to leave comments so quickly. Server load was going up- and the site was under real threat of becoming unusable and filled with garbage.

The naming and shaming was really an act of desperation, and yes - anger that someone would try and wreck the site in this way.

In the future- we've decided to just temporarily shut down new user registration if this happens again- I think that is sufficient. I don't think your 3 steps are listed above are really plausible in the heat of an attack MH - but thanks for the input.

I apologise for any offense I may have caused by my emotional response to the attack.
