Bill Maher - Punching Nazis

bcglorf says...

We don't stand for that kind of crap up here in Canada...

Jokes aside, we make exceptions to free speech and hate speech is something you CAN be prosecuted for. A teacher that was trying to teach holocaust denial was convicted for it:

My 2 cents, punching a nazi is more wrong because of the vigilante aspect of it than in an absolute moral sense. IMO the state should have laws about support for or membership with known criminal, terrorist or hate groups. Nazi's and KKK for starters, Westboro baptists and Saudi Wahabiism too depending on where society wants to draw the line. Morally though, I have no problems with declaring that debating merits of fascism and even mistreatment of Nazi germany historically is free speech and protected, but at the same time wearing a swastika on your arm or a pillow case on your head while marching in the streets to support your 'cause' should see you convicted and sentenced.

Bill Maher plays Hardball

Smugglarn says...

Bill is way off on a liberal rant. Evil corporations! It's our fault they blow themselves up!

The Saudi dictators put the American troops in the muslim heartland. The US gets oil - the King gets money. Blame anyone - blame the wahabi fucknuts. They are to blame. They are responsible for the entire war on terror. They play both sides and the war has never been about America but rather about the Saudi royal family. It's like medieval Europe.

Middle East? Medieval East is more like it.

Pat Condell - Appeasing Islam

Smugglarn says...

Islam is inherently violent, remember that the true believers are the Wahabis and the Taleban - not the progressives, they are just like any progressive of any religion. It has primarily spread through military conquest, as have Christianity on many occasions*. Apologists always say that it is against Islam to kill innocent people, but according to Islam, all that do not adhere to the Muslim faith are infidels and therefore not innocent. Although annihilation of those infidels have not been the policy of most Muslim regimes in history, it has never been a crime to kill them**.

* In a way, Judaism is worse, since the goal of war in that religion's name has never been about spreading the faith, rather the complete annihilation of the unbelievers. Thankfully that hasn't happened in a LONG time.

** Unless they have paid the Jizya (protection money)

My two cents €...

He's referring to European laws that are changing to accomodate some wahabi sharia practices that were previously illegal there. He's not talking about liberal muslims, he's talking about the fundamentalists.

What happens if a particular kind of Muslims, Wahabi jihadists, reproduce and/or proselytize enough to become a majority?

Islam - Empire Of Faith (Part I of 2)

I'm talking about how the admonishment for female modesty became justification for widespread female genital mutilation in Africa and Indonesia, or how Wahabi Islam perverted the concept of Jihad into slaughtering the innocent.

Christianity and Judaism had the same bloodthirsty beginnings as Islamic sharia law, but have moderated the practice. You can't tell me of a single Christian country today that still follows the Biblical instruction to stone the adulterous, but it's standard practice in Saudi Arabia. The practices of entire countries require the mainstream react.

I've tried to educate myself about Islam, and live in an Arab neighborhood, and yes...the vast majority of Muslims are peaceful and friendly people. But there is a significant number of Muslims engaged in, and demanding, practices that are incompatible with and repugnant to, the modern world.

Michael Ware on CNN: if Iraq is not a civil war, what is?

Farhad2000 says...

What is this Mike Ware thing you keep mentioning, as far as I know he's just an opportunistic ass who got a video from the net... whats this he followed someone bit?

I always find it ironic how America is so cozy with the most oppressive government in the middle east, the wahabi monarch state of Saudia Arabia. A country with a handful of rich royal families and vast poor majority, who are taught hate as unspoken policy towards other cultures so they don't question the current status quo...
