Amazon Boobs, Ancient Gods and the End of Evil

I'm sure this chap means well, but this is not a lecture, it's a sermon.
Without regulation, what prevents one person from enslaving another? or robbing another? or killing another? or raping another? or molesting a child? or destroying the environment? or exploiting labor? He makes it clear that he does not like government, but he provides no evidence for his own utopian belief system, and belief without evidence is the definition of faith. I'll say it again....
Belief without evidence = Faith
On the other hand, we all have a good understanding of government; which types of governments work and which kinds of governments don't. We also have a good understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of these different types of civic structures. It's a known quantity, with thousands of years of evidence to draw from.
Unless this guy's pie in the sky resembles Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome, he is hopelessly naive.

Yeah, look at religion. Government, however, is a necessary evil, and would be less evil if it were less self-serving (I'm looking at all you stock-holding, lobby-swinging, corporate-pandering politicians) and more about the people's needs.

Louis CK - Being Single

The part about the 9 dudes in striped button ups that want to get fucked with one short dude following closely behind instantly brought a mental picture of Boston. I didn't even know he was from Boston. But, yeah, that pretty much describes all I saw in Boston when I lived there for 9 months... and the part about cum dripping from their eyes and beating up strangers rang a bell too.

I remember my friends and I would go watch the guidos beat eachother up in front of some club that had a three story parking garage across the street from it. It never disappointed, 2am, people started coming out - people would get run over by cars, packs of jock, guido, frat boys would start throwing down in the middle of the street kicking someone in the head repeatedly as their bimbo girls screamed and flailed around in their mini-skirts. It was like Thunderdome for Northeastern. Boston sucks but Jamaica Plain, Cambridge were aight.

Thunderf00t: BURN MUHAMMAD BURN!!!!

kronosposeidon says...

At 0:31 he says, "Although many* Muslims struggle, I mean really struggle with this new-fangled technology of making fire." It doesn't sound like he's differentiating between flag-burning Muslims and the rest of them. He's casting a blanket assertion that most Muslims are so retarded that they can't even make fire.

But it's more than just that. He's constantly sarcastically labeling Islam as the "religion of peace." And you know what? It ain't a religion of peace. (GASP!) But neither is Christianity. Nor Judaism. Nor Hinduism. Nor even freaking Buddhism, if you can believe that. They all have lovey-dovey peacey-huggy teachings, but they also aren't afraid to pick up the sword whenever they deem it necessary for whatever god-awful reason. So why is he singling out Islam? Because he's a bigot? Yes, most definitely.

And that's why I'm sick of this guy. Fuck him. He's the West's counterpart to Ahmadinejad or bin Laden. Put them in Thunderdome. Except let no one come out.

*Bold face my emphasis

>> ^MilkmanDan:

I tend to think his "so stupid they can't even light a fire" was directed more specifically at the flag-burners themselves, and less at Muslims in general. He referred to the group as an "angry Islamic mob"; presumably he would take less issue with a "peaceful Islamic mob", or a "collection of average Muslims". "Maybe the Koran would burn better" could be offensive to Muslims in general, but I would assume particularly so to the flag-burning extremists.

Cool vid, but I have to say that I'm not the biggest fan of Burning Man. Every person I've ever met that made a regular pilgrimage there was kind of a tool... While there is clearly a lot of creativity there, there seems to be an overwhelming douchebag trustafarian population as well.

ps. very cool cameo by the thunderdome... complete with the bungee thingies...

I'd like to see Mormon Jesus, Joe Smith, El-o-heem, Xenu, L. Ron Hubbard and Tom Cruise duke it out in the Thunderdome. Two zany religions enter, one human super god being leaves!
