I saw them in Boulder in the fall of '85. The Thompson Twins opened for them.

I think that the best concerts you can ever see are of the bands who haven't been 'discovered' yet, when they're still a little raw and pre-packaged.

They did a slow version of "South Central Rain" that night. My girlfriend was mad, but I thought it was a great rendition.

It's nice to see that the guy from Thompson Twins has a new career.

There were many good 80s UK synth-pop outfits (Thompson Twins, Thomas Dolby, Duran Duran, Howard Jones et al.).

But Simple Minds was the greatest 80s synthpop band.
