Zero Punctuation: BioShock: Infinite

Jinx says...

I loved this game. I played it all in one night because I couldn't tear myself away from it. Its been a long time since a single player game did this for me.

Still, the ending did bother me slighty. From some reviewer,
"...these third act disclosures don’t render Infinite incoherent, they do take the story to a place where notions of coherency and consequence no longer seem to matter, before backtracking and then attempting to offer a finality that doesn’t make sense within the universe the game has created."
Pretty much exactly how I felt at the end. I enjoyed it, but I don't think it really made much sense.

I'm playing it through again on the 1999 mode and it impressive how much detail and foreshadowing there is. For example, the key you get at the start. Booker spins it so the that the bird on one side and the cage on the other sort of merge together as if they are in superposition. I may have not noticed the significance but I still think these little hints do sort of bury into your subconcious and generally improve your experience on the first playthrough.

Spanish TV seems to have different censorship standards...

Mazex says...

In a way, in many people views its either gonna be sexual repression or an even larger population, more very young parents, more objectifying of women leading to more sexual harassment and rapes and even a path to acceptance of public masturbation. The reigns of religion still influence society and people's subconcious into the idea that sexual arousal is a sin. Bouncing Breasts are pretty arousing, unless you don't like breasts.

It's called ear protection not neck protection.

Mighty fine point! I didn't even notice he never used it. I did notice he used the eye protection, then, I guess, subconciously, I just moved on. I remember thinking, well at least he was smart enough to use eye protection - What a doofuss.

must. get. my. shit. together...

interesting on a psychological level. there's some denial here, i mean he could sort things out and be happier, but his lack of desire is keeping him at a stand still. perhaps something like subconcious fear of what might happen - because of some past trauma (kinda like the fisher king).

Derren Brown attends dinner party, blows minds

Bruti79 says...

You should read his book, it's quite interesting. Sometimes he's already put a suggestion into someone long before the trick goes off. It's probable that he sent some queues to the young woman at the start of dinner, and then got her to think of black. His genius comes where he puts an idea in your head, and gets you to believe that you thought it.

Would not be hard to follow that logic, if you have a subconcious suggestion of "black" and then do a word association game, where you think of the first word as a reaction, and black comes to your mind =)

I luv me some Derren Brown, he is adamant about not using stooges. In some of his shows, he shows clips where his tricks go terribly wrong =)

Liar/Sub-human intervied by Vapid Talking Head

antimatter says...

Sweet Jesus I can't believe I just saw that. I don't even know where to start. She is a stark raving mad nazi lunatic.
On second thought, she Can't be that stupid, meaning that was staged and she's in on it, as it can clearly be seen.
Meaning that was nothing but provocation and looking for a fight.
Meaning The Powers That Be want this war to speed up. Do you imagine what would of happened if he had snapped and not zen-ed it out ? And started seriously getting pissed off at such threats ? The way she was talking to him, seriously though, as if she had just found a dead animal after days of not eating. I fear her subconcious. This is a bad sign.
//should be fired and disgraced. Pure nazi.
///that veil thing she was wearing doesn't work well w/ all that make up and blonde bangs sticking out. I'm all for cultural sensitivty and against mandatory "veiling" but the way she's doing it is pretty much an insult... what a retard.
////getting a blonde woman to interview him and yell at him like that is Very Smart in trying to piss off a crazy iranian male dominated society-ish nuclear bomber. Not that he is. Probably not at this point. The US wants the Oil. Remember the objective. And we actually USED nuclear weapons. Twice.

Toronto. We get the National Geographic channel (which co-produced the series with Five), so it should be running some time this year, I think.

DJ Krust & Saul Williams - Coded Language (powerful poetry)

benjee says...

My favourite lines:

We stand: as the manifested equivalent of three buckets of water; and a handful of minerals,
thus realising: that those very buckets turned upside down,
supply the purcussive factor of forever.

If you must count to keep the beat: then count,
find your mantra: and awaken your subconcious,
clockwise circles: counter-clockwise,

Coded Language - man-made laws...
Saul Williams is an amazing poet (who seems to appear in all sorts of music & films) with one of Bristol's finest: DJ Krust!

Korean rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody (rive performance)

SnakePlissken says...

The fact that the song's ingrained on your subconcious due to repeated exposure doesn't mean it's not hard to perform.

Show me another live band covering Bohemian Rhapsody from start to finish with as much accuracy and attention to detail as we saw here.
