MTV used to make money by running advertisements non stop, they just called them music videos. Now that music video programming is entertainment, they had to switch to a model that made more money. CD sales really make no difference, as they replaced by digital music sales. And piracy? Please, my older siblings in the tape generation stole more music than I ever did with a dual cassette deck stereo. Not one of them ever paid for a music cassette when they could just wait til their friends bought the cassette and copy it.

AFAIK, Youtube allows stereo.

I can recall cruising on big wheel while the hearing them being blasted from 8-track players in my old hood.


My older brother had this 6? foot long by 3 foot high cabinet stereo where the top slid open and it had a turntable and the controls. It had like wood lattice speakers and really coarse cloth over them under the lattice. He would play it on there.

Auto-tune wasn't included, it was just given as an example of the most known of the "Milestone 8 Audio Manipulation Explosion" @4:30.

I think their choices of milestones were pretty accurate.

One of my first cars, a hand-me-down Oldsmobile 88 Royale Brougham did nearly this same thing accidentally. I assume some part of the stereo wasn't grounded properly, so you'd hear a buzz through the speakers in sync with the revs. (Of course, that car was a V8 to begin with.)

Let me first say, I'm happy to see this. Any push on getting 3D gaming into the hands of more people is a good thing. However...

Hmm, this is why I went with the Asus 1920x1080 Lightboost monitor over the Sony OLED head mounted display (added benefit: the monitor's a lot less dorky). While I hear the black levels on the OLED are incredible, it's a 720p display.. and I've read owners already regretting the "low rez" of the unit.

3D may not be everyone's bag for movies, but it's great for immersive gaming. Titles like Skyrim and Witcher 2 are freaking awesome in 3D.. but that low a rez is hard to go back to unless the unit's cheap(ish). At least with the monitor it serves well for gaming and everything else, and if a game doesn't work in 3D you get the 120hz, which is really nice for fluid gaming. These head units use 60hz per eye because there's no nead to flip between two images.. each eye gets it's own.

I'll be interested to hear how the huge FOV affects the experience though.

And for anyone getting into stereo gaming with an NVIDIA set up, this web site's invaluable. Someone figured out how to modify shaders in just about any game, and the community here modifies games to make them close to perfect in 3D, even some that were unplayable...

get back on your own lawn then gramps... i have a wide range of musical tastes, from classical orchestral to native drums to country to death metal to rap, and i immediately find what to appreciate in this BALLER-ASS SONG.

Listen to it on a real stereo, read the lyrics... unless of course, you are unable to expand your mind. There are others like you. Maybe you can vote together in your old age.
