67 year old White Dude Told Him not to Fuck with Him

Drax says...

Ok wait.. this is getting into stupid land.

Here's what happened, two people got into a fight. There was only some hints towards racism, and in this type of thing that's actually pretty good. It doesn't mean anyone actually was racist.. you can't just play that card. When you start mouthing off all kinds of things get said and thrown back and forth, verbal sparring as rottenseed put it. And what did we hear? The EBM said the other guy had brought up something about not having to spit shine a white man's shoes, so we don't know who started this mess. Hell I heard more racial slurs thrown at him.

The fact that guy actually moved to the front of the bus tells me he's not really the type to start trouble.. if that's the case he would have just stayed in the other guy's face the whole time. He sure as hell doesn't back down though.

Anyways, two people got into a fight, it happens. The old man stopped before he seriously injured the other guy. That's the kind of fight I like to see if a fight does break out. No weapons, no lasting injuries.. just one person's pride having to be swallowed.

No, I don't like violence, but this was hardly a horrid attack. Fights happen. What I CAN see is EBM did not throw the first punch.

What rottenseed said.

Epic Beard Man moved away from the fight. He was content to leave it at the level of verbal sparring, but the kid escalated things by re-entering Epic Beard Man air-space. Then he got shot-the-fuck down.

However you slice it, rejecting reality and substituting your own hate filled version is never acceptable.

For fucks sake..... why the hell does ANYONE give a shit who I decide to fuck? Why are the people who are gay so frightening to those who are not? I can not wrap my brain around it, and frankly, I am fucking glad that I can't.
If you believe in tolerance then stop spewing hate. Or STFU. Where would we be without our gays and lesbians??
This angers me inside to the deepest part of my soul. I am sad for humanity.

It's often wrapped up in "Family values" and saving children from being exposed to the gay. I think its roots are mammalian fear for their offspring.

Hey, I'm straight and I never really bonded very well with my father. Is there a program I can enroll in to make me gay?

I'm lesbian and I'm a man. What the fuck do I do?!?!

/also dumbstruck by people like this guy..."Hey it's just how you think!", what about these physical non-choice factors: penis, vagina, testicles, ovaries, symmetry cognition (beauty, telling faces apart - men/women), hormones, involved neurotransmitters, reproduction "instinct" (again as said above, this is everywhere). Instinct<---!!!!! //

Because religion is fundamentally about exclusion. The sex thing is just a single flavor of all the hate that religion is based on... go back to the old days and you'll see all sorts of reasons that religion has come up with to hate people. For example: hating people for wanting the bible to be in a language other than Latin. A stupid fucking thing, and yet, people were put to death for wanting/suggesting such things.

Not that religious fucktards don't have the ability to have good-old-fashioned inquisitions anymore, they have to lash out at whatever is left and alternative sexual identity is something which is still not completely socially acceptable, and therefore is a target.

I'm all for statistics being respected even if they're considered undesirable - because otherwise what we're doing isn't science

I agree that it shouldn't be taboo just to tabulate those kinds of statistics that Cohen presents. The focus should be more on his bad science than his undesirable hypotheses.

Hmmm, the proletariat railing against the richest 1% from controlling everything was the cause of most of the 18th/19th century revolutions.
In ALL instances the leaders of the revolution became the new ruthless richest 1%.

That's not really true. You can make the claim that power corrupts but not that it's inevitable human nature to have a country run like a pyramid scheme the way the US is. Look at this map. Most of the 1st world has more spread in it's wealth. We're in line with poorer nations like India and Russia.... actually India's a little better.

Technically - the revolution, action and voice of the masses was a form of democracy. It's the same call to action outlined here.
Having said that: There is little difference between lords and nobles and rich corporations. Unless you lived in the forest, everyone lives and pays taxes to the lord that owns the land.

It's a question of whether it's a couple lords of the land or mostly a bunch of ex-serfs who made it out with hard work that own the land. You could say everything's a pyramid scheme but it's not such a big deal if the pyramid's not very tall. In America the pyramid is quite tall.

Likewise, now, you can hardly avoid paying money to the corporations since in one form or another they own everything you need to survive.

Big corporations own as much as we let them own via lack of regulation, not because they have some moral right to it, not because of hard work that set them above the rest of us. For example if you let a corporation have a monopoly it'll be very very wealthy really fast - that's one of the things we still sometimes regulate. Things haven't always been the way they are in the US.

Sure you elect a president, congress, senate - but they are powerless to stop the might of the drug, food, insurance, banking, media conglomerates, and the rest of the unelected giants that actually control the world we live in. We can't democratically stop any of these companies or bend them to the will of the people - not really.

Sure we can - it's called regulation. Or more generally we as a democracy could pass any law we wanted. Of course it's not going to happen because most people have no idea what's going on so they aren't going to exercise their democratic political power. There's plenty of other countries that are more aware and don't have the massive wealth disparity we do. Tiny steps like Michael Moore talking about it start a change that makes people aware.

Not to mention those elected officials are part of that same 1% elite.
