Love Letters to Richard Dawkins

Phooz says...

I loved those soundboards as a kid! I pranked a few close friends with great results but never got the gusto to call a food place or anything. I also remember whilst working as an assistant manager at a Domino's pizza one of the high school girl hires came to me because a customer was acting funny on the phone and when I took the call it was a pranker using a Jack Black soundboard, I called them our right away and they hung up. Now I wish I would have played along and become an infamous recording from that era!

A Dawkins soundboard would be flippin' amazing!

We need one of those Flash sound boards from this video (and the last one they referenced). Anyone remember those Arnold prank calls? These sound bites would top those for sure.

Mumford & Sons - I Will Wait

Yeah, I'm not saying it isn't actually audio recorded live, but something in the way they've mixed it has robbed it of the live feeling almost entirely.

Pretty sure it's a soundboard recording, AKA the only good-sounding live stuff posted anywhere (unless you prefer a tin-can cell phone recording). The video (visual) is obviously mixed, because it was set up for a music video. And yes, Red Rocks has beautiful acoustics by itself.

Jaw Dropping Mountain Bike World Champs Run by Danny Hart

The commentator (or at least one of them - the loudest one) is a guy called Rob Warner.

My boyfriend edits an online mountain biking magazine (Am I allowed to mention it here or is that akin to self linking?! Ah fuck it... what's a community like this for, if not for sharing?!...
http://wideopenmag.co.uk/news/11366/wideopen-magazine-issue-16-read-it-now-for-free ) and was almost as excited as the commentators during this run...

Rob's a bit of a legend apparently. He even has an a silly iPhone soundboard app with some classic/annoying catch phrases. Try 'getting in the mood' when your boyfriend has that idiot in bed with you

Longest telemarketer call ever = Greatest prank ever

Drachen_Jager says...

That would be easy, program it to wait for a pause and reply with, "I don't understand.", "Tell me more.", "Could you repeat that?" and a few others.

My tactic is to just leave the phone on the table and forget about it. I've had them hang on for over a minute. This is, of course, much more amusing but also takes much more effort. Maybe a compromise could be had with some kind of automated soundboard to keep them going. Think of it as adding some selective pressure to the mix of business evolution.
Edit: It also occurs to me that the internet is quite awesome in that it's actually quite likely the lady at the other end of the phone will end up seeing this video.

Irate Black Man Calls Himself

After playing with the soundboard, I have deduced that this is two sound boards talking to each other. Which is what the title says it is, but not exactly what your expecting it means. Connotative and denotative meanings are important!

How to say "No" LIKE A BOSS

poolcleaner says...

>> ^xxovercastxx:

...and with that context, it was pretty funny. By itself, not really.
>> ^charliem:
A little background:
Toby, the head of Human Resources at Scranton paper (where Michael (Carell) is the boss), is a dull, dreary and essentially boring person. Michael hates his guts, and would like nothing more than for Toby to just disappear.
Prior to this episode, Toby did disappear, on a 4 week paid vacation.
This was the very first 17 sec of the first episode of Tobys return to the office from his holiday....Michael, clearly not a happy camper.

Actually, by itself it's a great way to be sarcastic at work. For instance, if one of my underlings asks to go on an extended lunch or take a day off from work I would send them this clip in MSN. The context doesn't matter because we all know he's a boss saying no so it's funny. But it's more of a functional humor, similar to using an Arnold Schwarzenegger soundboard to answer specific questions during an interoffice meeting. Is each clip funny on it's own? No. Is it funny when it's used as a replacement for speech? Yes.
