YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE CRAZY TO BE A DEMOCRAT, BUT IT HELPS
October 27, 2010
Ann Coulter
With the media sneering about the Tea Party candidates being a bunch of nuts, how about we take a look at some of the Democrats running this year?
We've got Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank, who personally presided over the housing crash after getting that gay prostitution business behind him. Of course, Frank's actions are nothing compared to Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul's alleged participation in a college prank. Now, THERE'S a scandal!
California Sen. Barbara Boxer refuses to say whether a newborn baby is a human life. When Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Penn., asked her on the Senate floor a few years ago whether she believed a baby born alive has a constitutionally protected right to live, Boxer was stuck for an answer. Her nonresponsive replies included these:
"I support the Roe v. Wade decision. ...
"I think when you bring your baby home, when your baby is born -- and the baby belongs to your family and has all the rights. ...
"Define 'separation' ...
"You mean the baby has been birthed and is now in its mother's arms? ...
"The baby is born when the baby is born. That is the answer to the question. ...
"I am not answering these questions! I am not answering these questions!"
(Also, I think she said: "Please call me 'senator.'")
That's not Patty Murray-stupid, but it's still pretty stupid. How many late-term abortions are you planning to get, Californians, that it's worth being represented by such a cretinous woman?
Even if you are under the misimpression that Boxer's Republican opponent, Carly Fiorina, is somehow going to outlaw abortion in California, Carly will cut your taxes so much that you'd be able to fly to Sweden for all your abortions and still come out ahead!
Liberals are indignant that Sarah Palin writes speech notes to herself on her hand. This week, Alex Sink, the Democratic candidate for governor in Florida, was slipped a debating point by her makeup artist, texted by a campaign aide in violation of the rules during a debate with her Republican opponent, Rick Scott.
Oh, those thick Tea Party candidates!
Last weekend, Illinois governor Pat Quinn -- Rod Blagojevich's running mate -- stood silently as his supporter, state Sen. Rickey Hendon, blasted Quinn's Republican opponent, Bill Brady, as "idiotic, racist, sexist, homophobic."
Hendon has repeatedly made headlines over the past few years for his inappropriate behavior toward female colleagues. Once -- during a Senate debate -- he asked Sen. Cheryl Axley if her hair was naturally blond and then publicly propositioned her.
Another time, Hendon tackled Rep. Robin L. Kelly, knocking her to the ground after a House-Senate softball game she had come to watch in office attire.
Of the impeccable Brady, Hendon wailed: "If you think that women have no rights whatsoever, except to have his children, vote for Bill Brady. If you think gay and lesbian people need to be locked up and shot in the head, vote for Bill Brady."
Even the Chicago press was shocked by this, calling on Quinn to apologize. Quinn has "renounced" Hendon's remarks, but refused to apologize.
But watch out for the Tea Party candidates! There are some real loose cannons in that bunch.
Also last week, Rep. Ron Klein, Democrat of Florida, hysterically claimed he had been "threatened" by one of the Vietnam Veteran bikers supporting his Republican opponent, Allen West.
The man who had allegedly "threatened" Klein is 60 years old and goes by the terrifying name of ... "Miami Mike." Mike told the Miami Herald that he had simply e-mailed Klein, saying that he deserved to be voted out of office and, in addition, he needed "a good ass-kicking, which I'd be more than happy to do even though I'm a lot older than you."
As Miami Mike said: "A threat? Give me a break. He cannot be scared of what I wrote. If he is, he is just a real baby."
Apparently so. Klein turned Mike's e-mail over to the Capitol police, where they promptly burst out laughing and then ordered framed copies of the e-mail.
Speaking of little girls in pink party dresses, Keith Olbermann has repeatedly claimed that Allen West "disgraced his uniform." Weirdly, he never gives details of how he thinks West did that. (Maybe Olbermann could check on war-zone protocol with fake-Vietnam War veteran Dick Blumenthal, who's running for the Senate from Connecticut by lying about having served in Vietnam.)
As a colonel in Iraq, West was interrogating an Iraqi terrorist who knew about a planned ambush. Unable to get him to talk, West shot a gun near the terrorist's head, whereupon the frightened but unharmed detainee spilled the beans.
Because of that, West's men were able to capture a potential attacker and identify future ambush sites. There were no further attacks on West's men.
As West later told The New York Times, "There are rules and regulations, and there's protecting your soldiers." He said, "I just felt I'd never have to write a letter of condolence home to a 'rule and regulation.'"
When the Army considered court-martialing West, thousands of letters poured in defending West and thanking him for what he had done. Ninety-five members of Congress signed a letter to the secretary of the Army in support of West. No court-martial was ever convened.
Liberals won't say that John Phillip Walker Lindh disgraced his country. Washington Sen. Patty Murray thinks Osama bin Laden is a swell guy for building "day care centers" in Afghanistan. But they say a hero like Allen West "disgraced his uniform" by saving the lives of American soldiers.
Yeah, the Tea Party candidates are a real embarrassment.
California Voter Intimidation - The Federal Government
I thought the video was very Foxy.
They've got 2 people who aren't even slightly neutral (the woman should at least remain neutral in the broadcast) telling you how you should feel about a situation that they're clearly distorting.
If this was really a news program, the reporter, assuming she completely agrees with the guest, would at least play devil's advocate rather than tossing softballs to this guy.
Sharron Angle explains the plot to the book "1984"
I think she's just being honest. Obviously they want to look good. Most politicians would love nothing more than to get lots of softball questions so they can launch into pre-planned talking points. And not have to risk saying something stupid on the spot, or be dragged into talking about an uncomfortable issue.
The pitch for donations was a over the top. But it's the interviewer's job to keep politicians from doing nothing but campaigning during an interview. I think she understands that adversarial relationship, and is joking with him that he should just roll over and stop trying to be a journalist. It almost comes off as good natured ribbing.
Softball Fail: Throw Hits Girl In The Head
Getting up does not mean she's okay. I had a friend seven years ago get hit in the head at a softball game. He only felt a little bit dizzy at first...but it ended up bruising both sides of his brain, caused brain damage that he never fully recovered from (the slurred speech and memory loss eventually went away though), and ended his career as a doctor as no malpractice insurance company would ever cover him after this accident. He was only in the outfield and the ball bounced off his glove.

That ball is anything but soft.
That's what she said.
No, really, that's probably what she said.

I always find it funny, that americans, who have baseball and american "football" feel like they can make fun of football for being boring.
Let's see... A baseball game lasts about 2 and a half hours, and the action lasts about 30 seconds, every few minutes.
American "Football" not only had the fucking nerve to make use of the word "football" when it fact it should be named "handball" or something. AND... the action lasts maybe 20 seconds, and stops every couple of minutes, for a period of a couple of minutes more.
Don't get me wrong, I hate football (the real kind)...
That's why I don't like non-American football/soccer, golf, baseball/softball, etc. I do like NBA/professional basketball (dang Lakers, come on and get your acts together and beat CULTics).

3) evan if 99% of femail softball players wer gay , i dont see why its an issue to bring up on a news statoin that sumone is doing somehting that is comonely undertaken by homosexuals.
Pinch hitter displays superior ninja skills
Ah, to clarify the sliding, it was a generalization of how I got to the base. The only reason I'd be anywhere off the bag is because A) Lefty hitter, meaning play farther from the bag in case of a grounder, or B) It was a softball league and runners weren't allowed leadoffs, so I'd have to stay off the baseline as to not interfere.
Now, Following up on the slide, sometimes I did actually slide, which in a sense was used to slow me down. Years ago I had an injury while playing first where I did not slow down, I hit the bag with my right leg and the left one swung forward (As, they generally tend to when you're running) and the inside of my knee was hammered by the runner leaving a massive bump for a few weeks. Again, I never played that far off the bag unless A or B was met, but in some cases it was the only way to avoid my prior situation.
Now, the league itself is broken down into a 4 year age spread, So, the oldest bracket is 15-19. A lot of the pitchers were on the higher end of the age bracket and could get some serious speed on their pitches, which intimidated the newbies to that bracket, so a lot of hits were either light and grounded between 1st and second, or straight up bunts.
How a normal play for that situation should go is first base (me) would run to grab the ball, second base would run behind and take over first for the throw. This could not happen, as every team had a balance of shit players, and our two were generally stuck in right field, and second base. They were usually terrible at catching, throwing, and it was usually faster for the guy to get from home to first base then them to get from second to first. So, a lot of legwork had to be done by yours truly, and to avoid having to slow up or collide, I slid.
Another is because sliding and sticking my left foot out to touch the bag set my body up perfectly for a throw into home should the need have arisen.
Don't get me wrong, A normal play for me involved me moving two steps and just catching the ball, but situations arose where that was complicated.
And.. just one quick note, Ever notice joedirt, how proffessional fielders generally have people who can aim and throw the ball at them? You know, well enough that they get paid for it? yeah.. my league didn't have those kinds of people.
Also, it's been said.. But just ponder a moment. When ISN'T a play at first base a force out when they're running at you from home? I'm glad you can feel you're superior to me though, even though you've never seen me play, nor will you ever, as I'm now out of the age bracket.
However, I guess I really do suck, even though I'm the reason we won my KMBSA year end tournament by making two lay down catches and a line catch at first.
Oh, and the same year I won the year end tournament for the police league I also play on because family members are permitted, and my dads a cop. I lead the team for home runs, and I was 19 on a team full of 25-40 year old cops.
I wasn't trying to brag or toot my own horn in my original comment, and I'm still not. But I'd like to make it clear that I'm far from a bad or idiotic player.
Please and Thank You and Howdoyoudo (Politics Talk Post)
^I'll remind you as well, that the man who offers the observations above, has let his own guard down with regard to character and right conduct on this site and all of the motherfuckers I poked and prodded deserved it, including myself-I don't hate you thinker247....I hate your mother for having you.
is what is known as a joke, son. Not to be taken as a personal attack....I am simply pushing the buttons you have offered me to initiate a response. My suggestion is that you get out more, maybe get a real person to have a relationship with, perhaps volunteer down at the children's hospital, maybe read a few books without the aid of a computer monitor, join a softball team....exercize?? I dunno, try some fucking peyote with a shaman who can help you find your power creature..You are a child-

Christopher Hitchens and Stephen Fry Debate Catholics
Very good debate. I have to say that the panelists on both sides conducted themselves with great decorum and civility, and that the moderator did a very good job as well.
British people, and to a great degree the inheritors of the British Parliamentary system, know how to conduct a proper debate, and how to conduct themselves during such. Compare what you just watched to what masquerades as a debate in the American political process- the shouting participants who spout nothing but talking points and who refuse to accept- let alone to answer- anything but softball pre-approved questions, the ineffectual moderators, the unruly audiences. It makes me sad for the United States and glad to be Canadian.
What is also notable is this: thousands of people in the audience, and hundreds of thousands (millions?) of people watching on TV and the internet in the UK andworldwide- including those of us here at Videosift, are watching this civil, interesting and intellectually challenging debate as entertainment.
Chris Wallace's Hard-Hitting Questions for Rush Limbaugh
What difference does it make what questions Rush L. is asked? He's a celebrity/private citizen and his answers will be distorted and taken out of context by libmedia regardless. His answers weren't even featured in this vid (probably because they're too dangerously accurate for D. Komatose).
Speaking of softball questions, does Obama get any other kind? He's had no hard questions asked of him since assuming office; before then he had the mainstream media working (unpaid) on his election campaign so no hard questions then, either.
I have yet to hear a serious question asked nor answered about Afghanistan, taxocrats' roles in the banking and housing collapse, scamulus, crap-n-trade, high unemployment and now the socialized medicine bill. On top of that, we still don't know anything more about Obama himself, his college papers and other documents have been hidden from the public.
