Well I am informed and have studied the political and cultural history of the region. It's OK if a sad song or story makes you cry, but I can tell you that you and your ilk are dupes: hapless tools being spun by the Pallywood PR machine.

It is a sad song, and a happy cry.

I remember it in relation to my youth, the Vietnam era.

This song and "Leaving on a Jet Plane" are imbued in my memories of the late 60's.

The bad grammar in that plea at the end is kind of sad in the light of that eloquent letter. Such a sad song, even more beautiful now that I've read the source of it.
