The Mill Breaks Down the City Harvest Ad's VFX

Edit: duh, the witness cameras weren't moving of course. Nifty way to track a camera, what with the confined space and shooting on an iPhone, rolling shutter and all. WTF @ that anyway.

Also, what's with the Spanish armada in the YT comments?

INCREDIBLE video of space shuttle ascent

I can't speak to the certification process of camera systems on the launch vehicle, but I do know that NASA and others have been shooting ground-based video of the launches in 4K resolution on the RED One camera. So that's a start I suppose.

Unfortunately, the RED One is subject to well-known CMOS-sensor based Rolling Shutter issues (skew, "jello" etc), and I wonder if the vibration of the launch would cause these image issues to surface, making it (and all current CMOS designs) a poor option for shooting from the launch vehicle.

Proof the Nikon D3s is the best DSLR ever!

If only you could sync sound with these DSLRs, they'd put the movie industry on its head. Beautiful footage. I am amazed.

The Canon 5D Mark II helped "HD video in DSLR" take off, but AFAIK you still have problems with stuff like rolling shutter in the video... its good quality video but not as good as a dedicated video camera.

Youdiejoe's vid of the 2009 SoCal siftup

Why are you cross-posting your CNET user reviews in this thread?

>> ^Farhad2000:
Oh Nikon D90. If only you had input audio, didn't overheat, had better video controls, didn't scan line by line and could film for longer.
For now it's all about the Canon 21.1 MP EOS 5D Mark II, but then again it doesn't cost two thousand dollars more. Better yet sell your house and get a RED ONE Camera.
YouDieJoe did a good job editing and working around the D90s faults, the biggest being the the scanning of line by line from top to bottom, so if you move the camera too much you would see the image physically sway side to side (aka rolling shutter). Stationary shots are the best for it.
