Really? I thought it was posthumously produced, written but recorded without John. I'll listen again.

Not sure what you mean exactly, but the vocals are Lennon. When it comes to the music it sounds just like a standard Beatles song, which to me means George's guitar and Ringo's steady drumming. It's been years since I last heard this song, so it was great to hear it again. IMO much better than "Free As a Bird".

Thanks. Still sounds like Lennon, even without him. Still Lennon-flavored.

Michael Jackson buys ATV Music (every Beatle song) for $47 million

Thank God, may he lose the rest of his empire, soon-He may have to give away the cash cow-then, we can stop being pummeled with craptacular commercials used to butt-rape great Beatles tunes......

Their self-titled album is good for long car drives; they had a great unique ambiance/atmosphere to their songs and nice deliberate use of guitar feedback (thanks to Kevin Cadogan, shame he had to part ways with the band) to add to the swirling vortex bass of Arion Salazar. Their drummer is very underrated as he is low-key/restrained yet incredibly consistent as the pulse of the band, reminding me of Ringo Starr. Although it sorta sucks that they kicked off the whole alternative pop-rock craze in the late 90's and countless imitators followed suit and still are. Seeing them live at Merrimack College in 2003, which is about 10 minutes away from where I live, they were anything but poppy. The songs on their subsequent albums are hit and miss but it's hard for me to find fault in any of their songs from the first self-titled album.

Linda was one of a kind.....*sniff

Wings was flying when she died...Paul has had some crazy kuck...first Michael Jackson the not-so-black, back stab with the rights to Beatles songbook, and then the she-thing referenced above....I still say Ringo will be the last man standing.....

Are you encouraging sober sifting, MarineGun? For shame. I'm with swampgirl, except I'm drinking Bushmill's. It's still whiskey, so it's good enough for government work.

And I like it, ringo. It's one comprehensive video that brings closure to the whole 'This is SPARTA!' meme. That by itself is worth an upvote.

Yeah it was an epiphany for me one day I was listening to the white album and realized that McCartney's riff and Ringo's beat are used in a lot of punk songs, especially early punk (pixies, the clash, etc.) Not to mention the lyric composition is followed by many So Cal, bands.

The Beatles were so revolutionary in that they literally defined genres for the next 10 years.

In reply to your comment:
i've never heard it described as the first punk song... early-metal is often thrown around, but i get where you're coming from; the white album version is pretty rawkus.
