Soul Calibur IV ?! (Blog Entry by Thylan)

AnimalsForCrackers says...

Hope this re-sparks the flame/aura of awesomeness that Soul Calibur 1 for the Dreamcast had about it. Believe that Yoda will be for the 360 version and Vader for the PS3. Also, it was Heihechi from Tekken that was in the PS2 version of SC2. The Star Wars characters may be some sort of weird cult-homage to the old, largely unknown Star Wars PS1 fighting game, Masters of Teras Kasi, which wasn't too bad for Lucas-philes back in the day.

MDK Ending - A Live-Action French Art Video?

GT Countdown - Top Ten Consoles

codenazi says...

xbox? A total latecomer for this. (either one, too)

The consoles they are talking about were (mostly) an order of magnitude more popular and set trends.

Seriously, the NES should have been number one. The PS1 may have stolen the largest library and popularity later, but the entire industry would be stuck in the post-Atari screwed up market after they destroyed it with ET/etc.

Cabbage Defense Weapon - The Mossberg 590

duke nukem did totally rip off ash's signature catchphrases... although I'm not sure these sound effects are from Duke Nukem... they sound a lot like Bruce Campbell, which may mean they are from the (I think it was PS1) release of Evil Dead/Army of Darkness, which was expectedly heavy on the shotgun sounds and the phrase 'Groovy'.

Worst Special Effects Ever?

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

Pretty bad - but what about that Bollywood movie with the CGI'd small plane on the runway? We used to have it, but I couldn't find it. I think that one was a little worse than this, as it looked like it was rendered on a PS1, whereas this looks like a PS2.

Sony Playstation 3 makes creepy baby doll cry

Farhad2000 says...

Really stretching the meaning of the word Cute there sometimes.

I honestly always wondered about the relative effectiveness of these ads Sony makes for their Playstation systems, ever since the PS1 Sony has spent an large amount of resource producing really artistic, really creepy, really strange pieces advertising the Playstation. At times these hit the spot like the ad were multiple people talk about their experiences in the virtual word in a documentary style. Or the Playstation ad which shows the PS9 or something like that.

However then you have a lot of these weird oddballs, which I don't really understand. The other day I came across some mags with new Sony PS3 ads in them, it featuring stunning models that had their skin mutilated with the x, square, circle and triangle of the PS3 controller logo. Like WTF?
